Subclasses inDestiny 2have always been the key identifier between classes. Solar may exist everywhere, but only on Titan do you find Sunbreaker. As the game has grown, new subclasses have been added, and Destiny’s meta has shifted quite a lot. This article will rank the strongest subclasses for the Titan class, including thebrand-new release with Lightfall- Strand.

Players shouldn’t feel the need to tie themselves into a specific class’s playstyle, as subclasses offer a lot of additional variety and scope for experimentation. The five different Titan subclasses all play very differently, and while personal preference is a factor, some seem to have rather more potential than others.
Coming in last is the Stasis Titan subclass, Behemoth. Stasis Titan has never had it easy. Even since its launch in Beyond Light, it has often been looked over as a mediocre subclass, and that still hasn’t changed to this day. Behemoth is the worst out of the Stasis classes. With Warlock having some excellent Stasis exotics andHunter having some powerful builds, it can be very difficult to recommend Behemoth.

To further this problem, Stasis is in a very rough spot. Strand is simply much stronger, with its powerful suspending effects andpotent Fragment options. Behemoth also falls rather flat in PvP too. Despite having enjoyable movement with the Cryoclasm Aspect, there is little to Behemoth that is appealing. The Super is underwhelming, there is a lack of variety in ability choice, and the melee is slow and clunky to use. Behemoth needs help, and until it receives some, it remains very difficult to make it effective. While it has potential and can be a lot of fun, it’s certainly far from a meta choice.
Striker has been the strongest subclass for dealing damage a good number of times in the past. Cuirass of the Falling Star was once the king of Super damage, and Heart of Inmost Light with Storm Grenades had the potential to deal ridiculous damage with the correct setup. However, those days seem to be in the past now, and Striker Titan has become weaker than the competition. With a lack of true survivability outside melee attacks (and approaching to such range can be quite risky in challenging content), Striker has no real path to reasonable self-sustain.

Even witha solid build,Striker can still struggle with difficult content, making it quite a middle-of-the-road choice for Titans. In PvP, though, things start to pick up. The Knockout Aspect is arguably one of the strongest single tools in the Crucible, and Thundercrash is still a devastating shutdown super that can easily secure at least a couple of kills.
Sentinel is a very solid subclass. Ward of Dawn is a powerful super pick, and theAspects and Fragments Void Titan has access toare nothing to scoff at either. However, Sentinel falls short, as it doesn’t have anything truly broken. Sure, the builds can be good, but there are simply stronger picks on other subclasses that bring Titan to a different destructive level. Sentinel is good, but others are great. If the remaining subclasses weren’t so formidable, it would rank even higher.

Void Titan does excel in a team setting, however. The capacity to provide healing and overshields is something every teammate will surely appreciate, and Ward of Dawn is still a solid Super. Sentinel is also quite a strong pick in PvP. Ward of Dawn can secure a location on the map easily, and going into a gunfight with a free overshield will be a big help to winning most duels.
2Berserker
Lightfall’s new Strand subclass, Berserker, has landed with quite the splash, shaking up the Titan meta quite a bit. With powerful buildsand a fun gameplay loop, it can be hard to overlook the Strand Titan. Given that the two strongest parts of Strand are Woven Mail and Suspend, Berserker having very easy access to both of these instantly makes it an excellent subclass, and with more Aspects being released for Strand throughout Year 6, it stands to reason that Berserker will only get stronger.
Berserker is also a decent pick in PvP. While not the best, it still puts up a solid fight and has excellent movement potential. Suspend is also incredible in PvP, and given the suspending barricade that Titans can get from the Drengr’s Lash Aspect, Berserkers are scary to face in the Crucible.

1Sunbreaker
Sunbreaker Titan has been the strongest Titan subclass since the overhaul the Solar element received in Season of the Haunted. With certain setups, Sunbreaker was able to do absurd damage with the Throwing Hammer melee ability in the past. While the damage has been toned down now, it still packs a serious punch, and when combined withexotics like Synthoceps, you can take care of many mighty enemies.
Solar Titan also has remarkable survivability, due to the subclass’s easy access to Restoration and Cure. Sunbreaker is rather weak in PvP, though. While Hammer of Sol is a decent roaming Super, the rest of the kit is rather lacking and doesn’t provide too much in general dueling. Elsewhere, though, it’s tough to deny that Sunbreaker is some considerable distance ahead of its fellow Titan variants.
