Having recently rebranded itself asRainbow Six Siege X, the popular Tom Clancy PvP tactical shooter is undergoing another makeover as part of its seasonal Showdown event. The latest patch, Update 3.03 was released on June 25th, ushering in some big changes.
The patch, originally scheduled for a June 20th release, makes some minor adjustments to operator balancing, giving buffs to Kapkan and Mute byimproving their specialty gadgets. Additionally, there are changes to bans for players who repeatedly teamkill, with harsher punishments for repeat offenders.

Rainbow Six Siege X is free-to-play, but with some major restrictions for free players.
Renown Boosters also received an improvement, making them almost twice as effective when equipped by your whole squad.
However, the most notable change for the update is the reintroduction ofthe popular Showdown game mode, which lets players square off in a Wild West setting with a unique map, new operators and unique weapons.
Fort Truth Is Back
Showdown, a limited-time event, will run from June 25th until July 9th, and is a great way to gain additional XP while enjoying Siege’s grounded mechanics ina novel Old West setting. The event features fast and intense 3v3 action with a Secure The Area game mode.
Initially launched in July 2019, the unique game mode has been sorely absent ever since, aside from a brief spell in September 2021 when it returned alongside the Crystal Guard expansion. Now, the iconic Fort Truth map is back and likely to deliverjust as much chaos and mayhemas before.
It’s Law vs. Outlaws as you fight for control over a stash of gold, and loadouts are limited to ensure a fair and even playing field.
A new gameplay trailer for Showdown 2 reveals some of the details, including new makeovers for Flores, Oryx and Gridlock. Several new bundles have also been added, which can be purchased with R6 Credits, such as the Rugged Frontier Bundle.
For collectors who obtain all the seasonal bundles, a new weapon skin will also be unlocked for Azami, Kapkan and Tachantka’s 9x19 VSN, while two bundles for Capitao and Glaz will be available as part of weekly challenges and Twitch drops.
