How To Unlock Masterwork Research
The second iteration of Masterwork Research is not going to be a breeze to unlock or complete, which is no big surprise after how last year’s was.
As far as unlocking the GO Tour Johto Masterwork Research, step one is to buy the required Pokemon GO Tour Johto ticket in the first place for the event on Saturday, February 26, that runs from 9:00 am local time to 9:00 pm local time.
Having this ticket will give you access to a set ofSpecial Researchthat should be completed during the event, but also can be held onto and completed anytime after.
Once you finally make it through the nine steps that make up that Special Research, you will unlock access to the special GO Tour Johto Masterwork Research so that you can get started on completing it.
GO Tour Johto Masterwork Research Tasks and Rewards
The GO Tour Johto Masterwork Research is no doubt going to be a another time consuming one like last year’s, though it’s only made up of four steps.
It’s impossible to find out what all four steps are at this point either, as Niantic made sure to make it to where people will have to keep playing for awhile to complete this one.

As it is impossible to brute force yourself through the “Earn a heart with your buddy for 30 days in a row” task in less than 30 days, it’s going to be 30 days before anyone has access to Step 3 of the GO Tour Johto Masterwork Research.
Making sure not to forget to earn a heart with your buddy for 30 straight days is likely going to be very difficult for a lot of players, as one day can easily end that streak.
