There are numerous fossil Pokemon found in Pokemon GO. Monsters from across the generations have been added, including the likes of Kabuto and Anorith, but two of the newest additions are Tyrunt and its evolution Tyrantrum. These were added to the game during summer of 2022 for the annual Adventure Week event, with the duo not being very easy to obtain in the game.

Pokemon GO Tyrunt

Added alongside their Kalos region fossil counterparts Amaura and Aurorus, Tyrunt and Tyrantrum are two Pokemon that many players have been trying to catch and evolve ever since they were added to the game. This isn’t a case of just evolving Tyrunt with Candy only though, as there is also one other stipulation that comes into play when evolving it into Tyrantrum.

How To Get Tyrunt

Walking around your neighborhood will typically lead to more common Pokemon like Pikachu and Pidove spawning, but it’s always nice when you come across a rare spawn. These are few and far between, which is exactly how Tyrunt is in Pokemon GO.

Tyrunt is one that you have to get extremely lucky to come across in the wild, with most players never coming across them. Instead, the easiest way in the past to get Tyrunt wasthrough 7km eggsduring certain events and time periods, as well as Field Research and other research during events. As a result, Tyrunt is actually one of the hardest non-legendary or regionals to obtain in the game.

Finding one in the wild is really going to take a lot of luck, while your best bet is likely to keep an eye on the rotating egg pool to see when Tyrunt is back in 7km eggs and making sure to stock up on them when it is available. With the events already occurring in the past though, chances are high that you already have at least one Tyrunt that you’re able to evolve into Tyrantrum.

How To Evolve Tyrunt Into Tyrantrum

Evolving your Tyrunt into Tyrantrum is the ultimate goal after obtaining a Tyrunt, though this will mostly be just for filling your Pokedex or for potential raids. This is because Tyrantrum is not relevant in the PvP space as of this time, though that could always change in the future if it gets new moves.

Evolving Tyrunt into Tyrantrum is very similar to how you evolve Amaura into Aurorus, though one method is the exact opposite. You will need to earn the usual50 Candy for Tyruntby catching, hatching, or walking your Tyrunt as per usual, with Rare Candy also being an option too.

Once you have the 50 Tyrunt Candy necessary for the evolution, you have tomake sure that it is daytime. During daytime hours, you can easily go to your Tyrunt of choice and click to evolve it to Tyrantrum as long as you have the 50 required Candy. Even though Tyrantrum is not PvP relevant, it still has a great design and puts you one step closer to completing that Pokedex.
