ThePokémon-like game,Palworldby Pocketpair, has become an instant hit among gamers. The game sold over a million copies in 8 hours since its release on Steam and Xbox consoles. The game is also added to the Game Pass library along with Steam. On Steam alone, the game has garnered over 734,000 concurrent players.

Fans didn’t miss the uncanny resemblance toPokémon,as the game is calledPokémonwith guns. Just likePokémon,Palworldhas a bunch of creatures called Pals, and when an opportunity presented itself, one of the fans made a rather unique request to the developers, which was instantly obliged.
Palworld Developers Obliged a Fan’s Hilarious Request
The sensational gamePalworldhas over 137 creatures, or Pals, so far. Pals in the game are numbered, and the 69th Pal in the game is named Lovander and has an equally loving description.
Seeking a night of love, it is always chasing someone around. At first, it only showed interest in other Pals, but in recent years even humans have become the target of its debauchery.

Lovander wasn’t the 69th entry in the game originally, and going by the name, a fan’s suggestion was considered a good idea by the developers.
Back in December last year, well before the game was released, the developers introduced Lovander with aposton X as the 49th entry in the game.

A fan replied to the post andsuggestedLovander should have been the 69th entry instead, a reference to an X-rated joke, and the post was also liked by over 7,000 users. Surprisingly, the developers replied that it was “not a bad idea,” leading to Lovander officially being the 69th Pal in the game. The fan who suggested the hilarious idea even replied with a screenshot of Lovander’s official new entry number.
Ever since the game’s release,Palworldhas consistently topped the charts on Steam.

Palworld Fans Continue to Shower the Game with Love
At the time of writing,Palworldremains at the top of the charts in terms of most played games, with 1.9 million people currently playing the game and an all-time peak of well over 2 million players. The next best games,Counter-Strike 2andDota 2,are well below the million mark over the past 24 hours.
Having sold over five million copies in the first three days since release,Palworldhas beaten and surpassed Steam records set by Insomniac’sMarvel’s Spider-Manand Santa Monica Studio’sGod of War, both of which sold just over 3 million copies in their first three days after release.

Seeing the popularity the game has garnered, fans on PlayStation have been clamoring for a release on PS5, which could still happen, although there’s been no official announcement yet. At the moment, the game is only on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, apart from PCs.
Developers wouldn’t want to miss out on gaining the love and affection of PlayStation fans either, as there could be more records for the game to break over on Sony’s consoles. What has been your experience withPalworld? Let us know in the comments below!
