WHERE TO PLAY

15Eikthyrdeer / Eikthyrdeer Terra

Best Starter Ground Mount

Slow Walk Speed

Ride Sprint Speed

Neutral / Ground

Eikthyrdeeris the first Pal to make it onto this list, just beating some other ground mounts in the game by a small margin. Eikthyrdeer is just narrowlyfaster than Pals such as Arsox, Grintale, and Chillet, and ismarginally faster than Reindrix and Rushoar- making it a great starter ground mount. The only real competitor for the number 15 spot isKitsun, who runs at the exact same speed as Eikthyrdeer.

However, despite theidentical stats that Kitsun possesses in speed, Eikthyrdeer ranks higher for the simple fact that it is much easier to obtain. You can find Eikthyrdeer on theIce Wind Island, Forgotten Island, the Small Cove, the Grassy Behemoth Hills, Marsh Island, andthe Eastern Wild Island. Eikthyrdeer Terra, on the other hand, can only befound on Wildlife Sanctuary No. 1- or can be received through breeding Eikthyrdeer with Hangyu.

14Blazehowl / Blazehowl Noct

One Of The Slower Late-Game Mounts

Fire / Fire & Dark

Blazehowlis aFire-typeand is one of the slower Pals on this list. Though this flaming hound has aRide Sprint Speed on par Eikthyrdeer, Blazehowl does sport a slightly higher Run Speed and Slow Walk Speed. Both Pals are comparable in speed, but it is unlikely you will ever come across a Blazehowl before securing an Eikthyrdeer.

Though Blazehowl is definitelyquicker than some starter mounts, there are a lot better options in Palworld which are notably easier to catch. Blazehowl can befound along the Beach Of Everlasting Summer, which sits west of Mount Obsidian. Blazehowl Noct, however, can only be obtained through breeding Blazehowl with Felbat.

PlayStation-1

13Fenglope

Great High-Jumping Ground Mount

Fenglopeis aNeutralground mount and sits just ahead of Blazehowl in Ride Sprint Speed, making it the much better option out of the two. Fenglope is a rather nimble Pal, sharing aRide Sprint Speed identical to that of Direhowl- a Pal that is regarded as being faster than most mounts.

Though Direhowl is just a little faster in terms of Run Speed and Slow Walk Speed, Fenglope is moreuseful for scaling vertical terrain thanks to its Double Jumpability. Fenglope can befound just south of Mount Obsidian, within the area where the Mount Obsidian Anubis Statue sits. However, you can also take on anAlpha version of Fenglope at Ascetic Falls.

Xbox-1

12Direhowl

Decent Early-Game Ground Mount

Direhowlis aNeutral Palwith a reputation for being much faster than most Pals. While this is true, there are still a considerable number of faster options. In terms of Ride Sprint Speed,Direhowl is no faster than Fenglope. However, the latter does lag behind in both Slow Walk Speed and Run Speed.

Between both Direhowl and Fenglope, either Pal will serve you fine during the earlier and mid-portion of the game. However,Direhowl is slightly easier to obtain. You canfind this Pal on the Ice Wind Island, the Forgotten Island, along the region spanning from Forgotten Island tothe Small Cove, onthe Marsh Island, and finally, the Eastern Wild Island.

Fastest Of The Early-Game Mounts

Univoltis a surprising entry on this list, largely down to the fact that it does not appear to be all too fast at first glance. However, thisElectric Palmanages to travel slightlyfaster than both Direhowl and Fenglope in Ride Sprint Speed. Though the latter two options do sport a slightly higher level of Run Speed and Slow Walk Speed, all three options are remarkably close in their respective stat categories - leaving your choice out of the three down to personal preference.

Palworld: All Skill Fruit Tree Locations

Looking to acquire Skill Fruit and teach new Skills to your Pals? Here are all the Skill Fruit Tree locations in Palworld!

Of course, when it comes to combat, Univolt iscomparably better against Water Pals, and both Fenglope and Direhowl fail to be super effective against any type of Pal by default. If you are looking to acquire this Electric stallion, you canfind it over in the Deep Bamboo Thicket region.

10Suzaku / Suzaku Aqua

A Great Flying Fire Mount

Fire/Water

Suzakuis the first flying mount to make it onto this list. Although it is not the fastest of the flying mounts, Suzaku can be a considerable option to rely on for mid-game. Suzaku’sride sprint speed sits at 1100, which is considerablyfaster than both Galeclaw and Nitewing. Suzaku is also much better in combat than the latter two options, largely thanks to the fact that it’s a Fire-type Pal.

Though Suzaku does come in two distinct forms, their speed is the same, meaning which one you choose to go with largely depends on which Pals you are up against. Suzaku’shabitat lies within the Sand Dunes region, with its boss variant residing justsoutheast of the Dune Shelter. Suzaku Aqua, on the other hand, can only be received by breeding a Suzaku with a Jormuntide.

Fastest Electric Ground Mount

Rayhoundis yet anotherElectic-type Palto be featured on this list, and provides a decent speed boost for getting around the map. Rayhound sits within the middle of the pack for ground mounts, just beating Univolt in speed by a small margin. Rayhound also has adouble jump ability, making it a great option for traversing harsh terrain.

Though not the fastest ground mount by any means, this Electric-canine is a decent option to consider - especially if you are looking for a nimble mount to go toe-to-toe with Water-types. Just like Suzaku, Rayhound can befound within the Sand Dunes region. Rayhound can also be received through breeding, and belongs to a long line of possible parents.

Fastest Electric Flying Mount

Beakonis anElectric-type Pal, and is a great flying mount to carry you through the majority of the game. Beakon isrelatively faster than Suzakuin terms of ride sprint speed, but falls behind Suzaku in run speed. This makes both options comparable, and which one you consider largely depends on which Pals you are facing.

Getting Beakon in the wild will require a bit of grinding, as its naturalhabitat sits within the Deep Sand Dunesregion of the map - which is just north of the area that Suzaku naturally spawns. However, Beakon also appears as a boss on the main island, and can befound just southwest of the Deep Bamboo Thicketfast travel point.

7Shadowbeak

A Great Dark-Type Flying Mount

Shadowbeakis the firstDark-type Palto be featured on this list, and is one of the many flying mounts you can acquire in the game. In terms of ride sprint speed, bothShadowbeak and Beakon travel at the same speed. However, Shadowbeak isslightly faster when it comes to run speed.

While Shadowbeak and Beakon are quite comparable in stats, this Dark flying mount is noticeably harder to obtain. Shadowbeak can befound on Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, an island located just off the coast of the Deep Sand Dunes. Shadowbeak can also be bred for, requiring both an Astegon and a Kitsun.

6Pyrin / Pyrin Noct

Fastest Fire Ground Mount

Fire/ Fire & Dark

Pyrinis one of the faster mounts on this list, making it a great option for rushing around the map. In terms of speed, Pyrin is a great option, with itsride sprint speed sitting at 1300- which is decently greater than a lot of other options. Pyrin is also a Flame-type, meaning that there aren’t that many competitors when it comes to ground mounts of its type.

Palworld: How To Get Menasting

Menasting is a somewhat rare Dark/Ground type Pal in Palworld. Here is how to get it!

Pyrin can be obtained a little later on in the game, as it naturally spawns in the area spanningfrom the Mount Obsidian Midpoint and the Ruined Fortress Cityfast travel points. Getting Pyrin Noct requires slightly more work, however, as you will need to breed both Pyrin and Katress.
