Overwatch 2 is less than a month away from its early access launch in October 2022, but we do know that Blizzard still has one more hero to announce before the game comes out. However, it seems like the leaks have already ruined Blizzard’s surprise in unveiling Kiriko!Later last night, a cinematic video has been shared byKuriboh cervanteson YouTube, who claims it is a leak from the next Overwatch 2 hero called Kiriko! The video fits into Blizzard’s standards for an announcement cinematic very well, and it already does seem to be a solid leak from Overwatch 2 as Blizzard has taken down the video from YouTube due to copyright violence.Below, you can check out a number of screenshots that have been captured from the leaked footage:
RELATED:Battlefield Unveils Narrative-Focused Studio Led By Halo VeteranWhile the footage is no longer available on YouTube, you can find a part of it in the comments section of the tweet above. It simply showcases Kiriko fighting with two Hashimoto members in a tight corridor using his two iconic daggers and some other abilities.
The leak suggests that Kiriko is supposed to be a new Support hero in Overwatch 2. We can already spot some special moves from Kiriko in the footage that could be among the character’s abilities in the game. This includes Kiriko’s daggers and the ability to disappear for a short amount of time to traverse in space and spawn again. You can think of the latter as a more developed and enhanced version of Tracer’s dash.
Also, at the end of the trailer, Kiriko spawns two shadowy Torii gates while the enemies are desperately crawling to the other end of the gate. It’s yet to be known what this scene means for the character, but it seems like it could be related to Kiriko’s ultimate ability in the game.
Regarding the fact that we are not too far away from Overwatch 2’s launch, we should see the official trailer for Kiriko soon if the character is going to head into the game at launch. That being said, Kiriko might be a mid-season drop for the game.
