Black Myth: Wukongis the biggest game in the world. But it might not be coming to Xbox anytime soon it seems. Despite initial assurances from Game Science and Microsoft, the best-selling game still hasn’t hit Microsoft’s console.

In a funny twist, GameSpot has taken advantage of this situation to promote trade-in offers for the Series S. With no release date for the game on Microsoft consoles, users might start jumping ship with this. The game is simply far too big right now to miss.
Everyone Is Capitalizing OnBlack Myth: Wukong‘s Success
GameStop reposted one user’s post on X and mentioned that people could trade in their Series S consoles for up to $272.50. That amount is just shy of the $289.99 selling price of a new unit. Some have already taken advantage of the deal, with one user noting on Twitter that their Series S was “just collecting dust.”

The game was released in August 2024 on PlayStation 5 and PC, with the Xbox version delayed indefinitely. Despite speculation that the Series S’s limitations caused the delay, Microsoft has firmly denied these claims.

According to a Microsoft representative who spoke toForbes, the delay is due to factors unrelated to the capabilities of Microsoft’s consoles. Many in the gaming community, however, believe that an exclusivity deal between Game Science and Sony may be at the root of the delay.

This One Game Could Seal The Deal On The End of Console Wars
Meanwhile, PlayStation and PC gamers have been enjoyingBlack Myth: Wukongsince its release last month. The game has breathtaking graphics, fun combat, and a story that has gotten fans hooked on its Chinese mythological themes.
The game has already grossed over $850 million, and withexpansions and possible sequels in the works, it’s clear that its success will only continue from here. For Xbox owners, the fact that they remain cut off from this potential Game of The Year is not an easy one to be happy with.

This marketing move is a reminder of how increasingly competitive gaming hardware has become. For console users specifically too. Series S users in particular have to hold onto their consoles and hope, or move on while they can get the most benefit.
Whether or not Microsoft can remedy the situation before more players jump ship remains to be seen. With the game continuing to perform exceptionally well on other platforms, and no clear indication of when it will come to Xbox, the latter option may seem more appealing to many.
