Rey Mysterio is regarded as one of the greatest luchadors in professional wrestling. He took the legacy of his predecessors and touched greater heights than was unimaginable for the size and stature of a wrestler like him.
The Master of the 619 made his debut in WWE in 2002. He began his rise to the top, battling opponents like Eddie Guerrero, Randy Orton, and Big Show. Four years after his debut, Rey Mysterio captured the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 22 in memorable fashion.
Although he left the company in 2015 and explored outside promotions, it was in 2018 that he returned, and since then, he has been a strong part of the active roster. In doing so, Rey Mysterio has wrestled 1500 matches in WWE, which is a historic feat for any superstar in the company.
However, the former two-time WWE World Champion is still not at the top of that list. There are few other individuals who beat Mysterio for the record of most matches in WWE.

Rey Mysterio has wrestled some of the most toughest and talented WWE superstars in those 1500 matches in the company. However, there are names who have had more matches than the Master of the 619 in the global juggernaut. Interestingly, two of those legendary names are no longer a part of WWE today.

The current names in the WWE landscape who have wrestled more matches than Rey Mysterio are impressive. The first one is the only two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion, The Miz, who has wrestled 2078 matches since his debut on the main roster in 2006, four years after Mysterio came to WWE.

The next name on this list is New Day member Kofi Kingston, who has been a part of 2181 matches in WWE. The last one is a bonafide future Hall of Famer and the man who claimed that he still has ten more years in the company. He is none other than The Viper,Randy Orton, who holds the record for most WWE matches, with 2396 matches as of this date.
Elsewhere, there are some legendary names who are no longer a part of the company but still have more matches than Rey Mysterio. One is current AEW star Paul Wight, formerly known as The Big Show, with 1620 matches, and the other is WWE Hall of Famer and current Mayor of Knoxville county, Kane, with 1853 matches.

One more name who is towards legendary status in the future but has had more matches than Rey Mysterio in WWE is TNA star Nic Nemeth. He wrestled in WWE as Dolph Ziggler and holds a record of 1571 matches.
Rey Mysterio is a part of the current RAW roster
Despite Rey Mysterio not being on top of the list for most matches, he got inducted into the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame and is still going strong as a cornerstone of Monday Night RAW. Currently, he is in charge of the LWO faction.
