When it comes to villains inOne Piece, Doflamingo stands iconic in most ways. His villainy served as an impetus for the events following the Dressrosa Arc. From his flamboyant style to his mannerisms, he is badass in more ways than one.

Barring his style, the character stands testimony to well-written characters in Eiichiro Oda’s series. And while fans fawned over the character, they may have missed a major detail regarding him.
Of late several readers have pointed to an easter egg in the manga which most fans may have overlooked. While this started as a theory, Oda hinted at this on most occasions in the manga.

Interestingly, the detail is pivotal in understanding the stark contrast between the Donquixote brothers. This ties well with Oda’s literary brilliance as a mangaka in rendering his characters with individuality.
One PieceFans overlooked this major detail about Donflamingo
One Pieceis famed for its god-tier foreshadowing. Be it Sanji’s true identity or voice of all things, Oda is a sculptor of sorts. This is especially true for his meticulous detailing in his manga.
Be it characters or events, he’s a true genius for fleshing out his characters. This also extends to one of the iconic villains in the series,Donquixote Doflamingo.

As one of the overarching antagonists in the Dressrosa Arc, Doflamingo’s feats arenothing short of tyrannical. His murdering of his father along with his brother outlines him as a formidable character. But that is not all, considering his sadism toward innocent people.
Being born as a Celestial Dragon imbued a sense of entitlement to his persona. This is evident when he sided with the Marines during the Marineford Arc and ordered Doldo to kill Dressrosan citizens. Amidst the chaos, though, there has been a major detail that may have gone unnoticed.

For years, fans have posited thistheoryregarding the character’s blindness. From his silhouette to his covered face, Oda did insane foreshadowing regarding his condition. This also ties well with Rosinante’s mutism.
Interestingly though, the mangaka doesn’t get enough credit for positing the binary between both brothers. While both hail from a noble family, both represent crossroads in terms of their trajectories which further highlights Oda’s literary brilliance.

While Doflamingo is hailed as a fleshed-out character, Rosinante is second to none in terms of his persona. Despite being a member of a family associated with Celestial dragons,Rosinante’s trajectoryis divergent from his brother’s.
As opposed to tyranny, he embodies compassion and kindness. His mutism was a foil to get closer to the Marines to thwart his brother’s actions. Interestingly though, his beliefs and ideas are divorced from the Marines’ sense of warped justice.
On top of that, both Donquixote brothers are two different sides of the same coin. Rosinante, however, represents kindness and generosity. As seen when he went out of his way to help Trafalgar D. Law.
His loyalty and friendship with Law are heart-rending in most aspects. But most of all, his trajectory in the series is nothing short of gut-wrenching.Eiichiro Odaleft no stone unturned in imbuing the characters with depth and gravitas.

By and by, Oda went above and beyond in bringing profundity and layers to the manga. Be it the characters or the plot, his series is wholesome in most aspects.
