As expected, Episode 6 ofMoon Knightwas full of surprises, and fans are eager to learn about the season’s mysterious ending.
The final episode ofMoon Knightstarts precisely where the previous episode left off. Marc finds himself in the Field of Reeds, but he decides to go back to the Duat to be with Steven. Marc realizes that Steven never left him when he was a child, and he would do the same for Steven. After that, Marc and Steven find the gates of Osiris opening in front of them, and as implied by Taweret, Osiris might have gone soft on both of them.
Now, we see Arthur freeing Ammit after killing the avatars of every other Egyptian God. Immediately after returning, Ammit decides to judge the souls of Cairo, but Layla frees Khonshu at the same time. Khonshu tries to stop Ammit, but he is too weak without his avatar. Fortunately, he senses Marc’s presence, and we finally seeMoon Knightand Mr. Knight’s returning to the show.
Layla Finally Becomes an Avatar, but not Knonshu’s
In the episode, we see Taweret talking to Layla through corpses. She asks Layla if she wants to become an avatar, and at the time, Layla has no choice but to accept Taweret’s offer. As soon as Layla says yes, she finds herself in a spectacular costume that also comes with wings.
She instantly uses these new powers to help Marc and Spector fight against Arthur Harrow. Similar toMoon Knight, Layla can use her suit to fly and block bullets with her wings. And of course, he physical strength increases substantially, making her as strong as Khonshu’s avatar.
Moon Knight Episode 6 Ending
Khonshu gets dominated by Ammit, but things go differently for Harrow, as Marc and Layla easily overpower him in the fight. But at last, Arthur gets the upper hand, and he tries to kill Marc and Steven once again with his staff. Marc now looks at Layla, who is surrounded by Arthur’s men, and that’s when he blacks out.
After waking up, Marc sees all the enemies either dead or lying unconscious on the ground. Of course, Marc and Steven were blacked out during the fight, so it was obviouslyJake Lockleywho defeated Arthur and his men. The episode’spost-credit sceneeven confirms this by giving us a first look at Jake.
Nevertheless, Marc uses this opportunity to seal Ammit in Arthur’s body, and Khonhsu asks Marc to kill them. However, Marc refuses to do Khonshu’s bidding, and he asks the Egyptian God of Moon to free them. At the time, Khonshu does release Marc and Steven, but in the end, we all realize that Khonshu had something else on his mind.
Apparently, Khonshu already knew about Jake Lockley, and he knew that Marc’s third personality was the most violent one. Unlike Marc and Steven, Jake doesn’t hold back his punches, and he would kill anyone at Khonshu’s command. Well, that’s what happens in the show’s post-credit scene, as we see Jake Lockley shooting Arthur after breaking him out of the asylum.
Initially, Khonshu had Marc as his avatar, and Steven continued his life without getting affected by Marc’s or Moon Knight’s presence. He didn’t even know about a second personality. Similarly, Steven and Marc are now entirely oblivious to Jake’s presence.
On one side, Marc and Steven are free from Khonshu’s bounds, but their body isn’t. Khonshu still has an avatar he wants, who, undoubtedly, is even more powerful than Marc. So, get ready to see Jake Lockley asMoon Knightfor a while, who, by the looks of it, is more an anti-hero in the MCU.
