Enchanting your armor in Minecraftis the best way to add longevity to your game play. Whether you’re taking on the Ender Dragon, the Nether,or the Deep Dark, don’t go out into danger unless you’re well-protected by magically enchanted armor.
Minecraft: How To Craft A Smithing Table
Grab yourself some wood and iron, it’s time to craft a Smithing Table.
In recent years, Minecraft has added additional late-game challenges and dungeons with enticing rewards. Having well-enchanted armor is only one step to gathering loot. But with limited spawns of some enchanted armor pieces and strategic application of enchantment levels, picking which enchantments to add to your armor can be tricky.

Unbreakable Enchantment
Mending is by far the most useful enchantment for armor. The Mending enchantment uses gathered experience to restore your armor’s durability after taking damage. Armor with Mending will use one experience point to restore two points of durability. Any leftover experience is added to the player’s level.
Simply put, this is the best way to stay alive. If you’re constantly killing mobs, getting hit won’t be of much consequence. For example, fighting the Ender Dragon will have you also fighting scores of Endermen, giving you limitless experience orbs to restore your armor’s durability and protect your health as long as you need while you take out the pillars.Mending is pretty easy to get, too;Mending can be acquired from trade with a village librarian, temples, strongholds, and even fishing.

8Protection IV
Become A Brick Wall
The Protection enchantment can be leveled to IV, scaling with each level to reduce damage a player takes. Damage to armor with the Protection enchantment is reduced by 4% per level per armor piece. If your entire set of armor has Protection IV, any damage taken is reduced by a whopping 64%.The only types of damage that aren’t reduced by Protection are non-armor-related damages, like the /kill command or hunger damage.
If you’re going to spend your experience on enchanting your armor with an enchanting table, spend it on leveling Protection fully to IV and try to stack with the Mending enchantment. Combining Protection IV and Mending will make you very, very hard to kill. However, Protection is mutually exclusive to other protection enchantments, meaning you can’t have Blast Protection, Fire Protection, Projectile Protection, or plain Protection on the same armor piece. Protection alone should be enough to keep you safe.

7Feather Falling IV
No More Fall Damage
Feather Falling can only be applied to boots and is extremely rare. It costs 30 levels of experience and only has a 2.7% chance to enchant armor. Despite its rarity though, Feather Falling is worth the investment of time and experience. This enchantment reduces all forms of damage taken by falling.
Fall damage typically ignores armor, so this is the best way to keep yourself safe when walking without looking at your surroundings. Protection IV and Mending aren’t enough to make you unkillable: Feather Falling is the next best step toward immortality. Feather Falling IV will reduce fall damage by 48%.

6Thorns III
Thorns is an extra handyenchantment for your armor that deals damage to anything that hurts you.Thorn damage scales with enchantment levels, so Thorns III has an 11.25% chance of dealing 4 damage to an attacker per item enchanted. With a full stack of Thorns III armor, you can expect about a 61% chance of dealing 4 damage to your enemies.

Since the very beginning, Minecraft has had mini-games. Here are the best ones
Thorns does, however, reduce your armor’s durability by 2 points whenever it deals damage. If armor is also enchanted with Unbreaking, the durability penalty might even be ignored. Thorns isn’t too hard to find: they can be obtained throughnormal enchanting, fishing drops, villager trading, or loot. But to get Thorns III, you’ll have to use an anvil to combine two Thorns II enchantments.

5Respiration III
Breathe Underwater
Respiration can only be applied to helmets and is only highly effective when you’re spending lots of time underwater. The Respiration enchantment adds 15 seconds to your breathing timeper level on top of your normal 15-second timer.
If you’ve got Respiration III, that’s 60 seconds underwater without penalties. Respiration can be obtained with the enchantment table and isn’t terribly rare. Because it’s situational, though, you may want to save it for a spare helmet you only use when venturing underwater. If you’re exploring the Deep Ocean andfacing off with Guardians,Respiration III is essential.
4Depth Strider III
Swim Like A Fish
Simply put, Depth Strider improves your quality of life. This enchantment is exclusive to boots andincreases your movement speed when underwater.Movement speed is reduced by about a third per enchantment level and also affects flowing water that pushes you around.
If you have level III, you can swim as fast as you typically walk on land. Considering the sheer amount of water you’ll probably encounter in Minecraft, having a bonus to your speed will help you outrun mobs, travel quickly, and explore remote underwater areas. Combine Depth Strider III with Respiration III to stand the best chance of exploring the Deep Ocean.
3Soul Speed III
Don’t Get Slowed
Another situational enchantment, Soul Speed can only be applied to boots andboosts your movement speed when walking on Soul Sand and Soul Soil.It can be obtained by trading with Piglins or in chests in Bastion Remnants. When you walk on Soul Sand or Soul Soil, Soul Speed increases your movement per level.
The base enchantment negates the slowing effects of Soul Sand and Soul Soil, and each level then increases your speed to 51% at level II and 61.5% at level III. Soul Speed III is situational and probably only useful when you’re exploring the Nether, but considering how much of the game requires exploration of the Nether, it’s a good idea to have a spare pair of boots with Soul Speed on them.
2Projectile Protection IV
No More Projectile Damage
This enchantment can’t stack on the same armor piece with other types of protection enchantments, but it comes in handy if you have it on one or more items of armor.Projectile Protection will reduce any damage you take from arrows, tridents, bullets, llama spit, and fireballs per level.
At Projectile Protection IV, thrown item damage will be reduced by 32%. If you’ve got Protection enchantments on multiple armor pieces, you can stack damage reduction to 80%. However, trying to enchant the same armor piece with two different Protection enchantments will delete the enchantment, so be careful.
1Swift Sneak III
Essential In Ancient Cities
Swift Sneak can only be applied to leggings and is not renewable, meaning it is a finite resource, like durability, that will be reduced over time. However, being able to sneak quietly and quickly can be very advantageous when exploring dangerous environmentslike Ancient Cities and Fortresses.
Swift Sneak can only be found in chests in Ancient Cities. This enchantment increases sneak speed by 15% per level, and at level III sneak speed is increased to about 75% of normal walking speed. While you can only find enchantment books of Swift Sneakup to level III in Ancient Cities, commands will allow you to level the enchantment to IV and V for the biggest boosts.
