Xbox was seen doing something similar even during the launch ofStarfield. By doing so, Xbox has made it very clear that it is one step ahead of its players.

Xbox Removes Its Most Abusable Feature

Xbox has removed its $1 Game Pass trial ahead ofBlack Ops 6’slaunch to prevent players from taking advantage of it during the initial days after the game’s release. This is a strategic decision taken by the company to boost the sales of the game and not let players play it for free.

Xbox Game Pass was known for giving players a free to cancel 30-day trial at the small price of $1. It was removed from Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass last year in March, and it was brought back a little nerfed. The 30 days were reduced to 14.

After implementing this change, the company then went ahead and removed it on October 8th again before the release ofBlack Ops 6. It was then brought back after a few days. However, it is again being removed for the time being until the sale numbers ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6stabilise.

The quiet removal of the $1 Xbox Game Pass trial has taken place to boost the sales of the upcoming game. However, it is also true that Xbox relies onBlack Ops 6to bring more players to the Game Pass since the franchise attracts a lot of attention.
