Unlocking additional weapons happens more or less passively as you progress through the game, but Sigils are a different story. You’ll need to go out of your way tocomplete challengesthat are not part of the main campaign to unlock and upgrade them. But, the extra hassle is worth it because Sigils will grant youpowerful passive abilities.
How To Unlock Sigils
Before you may start collecting Sigils, you’ll firstneed to beatboththe tutorial sectionof the game and thefirst level, Voke. Once that’s done, go back to the level selection menu, and you’ll find that completing Voke has unlocked access to thefirst three Torments: Killing With Rhythm I, Weapon Trickery I, and Relic Thief I.
Torments areoptional challenges with a twist. For instance, during Weapon Trickery, you’ll have to kill 30 demons in a limited amount of time without having any control over what weapon you’re currently using. If you manage to complete one of these challenges, you’ll receive a Sigil as a reward.

There are seven types of Sigils in Metal: Hellsinger, and each of them has three levels of power. You can gain a more powerful version of a Sigil by simply completing a more challenging version of the Torment associated with it. And, you can gain more Sigils by completing a wider variety of Torments. Just like with the first batch, you’llunlock three additional Tormentsevery time you complete a new level.

How To Use Sigils
Sigils are essentiallyperksthat give you variouspassive abilities. For example,Ghost Rounds, the Sigil you unlock by completing Weapon Trickery, gives you two free attacks every time you switch weapons. At tier three, the Sigil gives you a whoppingeight attacksthat don’t eat up any ammo, which is particularly useful when combined with the Vulcan crossbow.
You canequip Sigilsbefore entering a level by using theloadout menu. Although there are seven types of Sigils to choose from, you canonly have two equippedat any one time. Choose carefully because some Sigils are better than others.

Also worth noting is that higher-tier Sigils automatically replace lower-tier ones in the menu. Even if you unlock all 21 variations, you’ll still only have 7 available slots in the menu – one for each type of Sigil.
