In fact, the character’s popularity proved so immense that he and his trusty companion Boo feature in the ‘Legends of Baldur’s Gate’ comic series.

However, despite his voice-acting credentials, Mercer may well be best known for being the dungeon master on the wildly popular Dungeons & Dragons web show Critical Role. Critical Role sees a cast of voice actors play through a D&D campaign of Mercer’s making, to entertaining effect. The show is currently on its third campaign entitled “Bells Hells.”
With Mercer’s clear passion for Dungeons & Dragons and his extensive voice-acting portfolio, he’s a natural fit to take up the mantle of Minsc.
Minsc was previously voiced by Jim Cummings, a prolific voice actor in his own right. Cummings provided voice acting to Grand Theft Auto V, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and World of Warcraft. The veteran voice actor is currently working on Disney’s Mickey Mouse Funhouse.
