Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends since they were just eight and ten years old respectively. The young boys bonded over baseball and their love for acting and have been inseparable ever since. They would go to auditions together and work together before finally fulfilling their dream of making it big withGood Will Hunting,a film they starred in and co-wrote as well.
The two have been with each other through thick and thin. According to sources, nothing has changed over the years, as apparently, Matt Damon continues to look after Ben Affleck as the latter is reportedly in the middle of marital troubles with Jennifer Lopez. It seems like he will do what he can to help his friend, even if it means pushing him to stay closer to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Of course, there is no way to know just how much truth is in this statement.

According to a source who confided inIn Touch Weekly, Damon’s top priority is taking care of Affleck and making sure he stays out of trouble. Affleck’s fans know that the actor has had troubles with alcohol in the past and as per the source, Damon is trying his best not to let his friend relapse.
Matt’s No. 1 priority right now is keeping Ben out of trouble. The last thing anyone wants is for Ben to turn to alcohol again. Matt has straight out told him that relapse is not an option.
Another one of Affleck’s support systems is Garner, which is probably why Damon is pushing him to stay close to her during these tough times, at least according to the source.
[Garner’s] always been a calming influence on Ben. Which is why Matt’s pushing Ben to stay super close to her and their three kids.

The last film Damon and Affleck were in together was the 2023 biographical sports drama,Air,produced by the duo’s newly formed production company, Artists Equity.
And now, they will once again be seen on the screen together in a crime thrillerRIPthat has been acquired byNetflix.

The above-mentioned source also stated that one of the reasons why Damon agreed to co-star with Affleck was to keep the latter from having too much free time, which could potentially be harmful for him.
He’s also agreed to costar with Ben in a new crime thriller called RIP. Anything to keep him from having idle time on his hands.
While no plot details have been revealed forRIP,the film is going to be a thriller with Joe Carnahan directing. Damon and Affleck’s Artists Equity is the production company behind the project.
