Marvel Snap’s newest card is Hercules! He has been added for the Planet Hulk season and falls into some pretty specific archetypes. Finding a deck that fits Hercules well can be difficult for players who aren’t familiar with move decks.

This is the first time that a card in the move archetype has been added to the game in quite a while. This guide will outline some good decks to start out with, common counters for the card, and useful synergies.

Best Hercules Decks
Hercules' Ability says “The first time another card moves here each turn, move it to another location.” This means that move cards that have Abilities triggered by their move (like Human Torch, Vulture, or Multiple Man) can enjoy a second boost when they slide into Hercules' lane. This is only possible on the first move of each turn, so Hercules' lane should be kept as clear as possible throughout the match. Below are two useful decks, one centered on Power-gaining cards like Human Torch and Vulture, and the second focused heavily on the Phoenix Force. Both are move decks with different goals.

Classic Move Deck
This is the classic move deck and covers many of the bases you would expect. The ideal play here is to get Power-gaining cards (likeHuman Torch,Dagger, andVulture) boosted up. This can be done a few different ways, andHerculescan come in handy along the way. There are the basic move cards likeGhost-Spider,Iron Fist,Cloak,Doctor Strange, andHeimdall, that can all be used to move cards from one lane to the other.
Players can also rely on Hercules to give some of these cards an additional boost when they enter his lane.Hulk Bustercan also be popped on one of the cards (specifically Human Torch, if possible) to get an even larger boost to their Power.Miles Morales Spider-Manis a huge boon as well, as the card’s Cost becomes only 1 if a card moved the turn prior.

Hercules Phoenix Force Deck
This move deck focuses on using thePhoenix Forceto boost the Power of eitherHuman TorchorMultiple Man. The Phoenix Force’s Ability states “On Reveal: Revive one of your destroyed cards and merge with it. That card can move each turn.” This means that players will need to destroy the card they want to conjoin with the Phoenix Force and then play the Force on the next turn to revive it.
Doing this to a card like Human Torch can boost the card’s Power to 7 (with the potential to gain even more withHulk Buster) and then double each time it moves for the rest of the game. The same strategy applied to Multiple Man. Players can also move these cards intoHercules' lane to get an additional move/boost that turn.

Best Hercules Counters
Because Hercules is a move cardwithout an On Revealor Ongoing Ability, it doesn’t have many counters. Normally, Cosmo or Enchantress (On Reveal and Ongoing disrupts respectively) make an appearance in a counters list, but for Hercules, you really have to pay attention to the counters for its synergy cards.
Since Hercules gives an additional move/boost to move cards, the most common accompaniments are going to be Human Torch, Multiple Man, Dagger, etc. All of these cards can get well over 10-Power during a good game. This means that cards likeShang-ChiandShadow Kingare the biggest threat to a successful Hercules play. Killmonger can also be a thorn in the side of Human Torch players!
Best Hercules Synergies
The cards that synergize with Hercules are ones that get a boost from moving around the board. These are cards likeMultiple Man,Vulture,Dagger, orHuman Torch. All of these cards have huge Power potential when Hercules is on the board. Players should keep in mind that these cards will only get an additional move if they are entering Hercules' lane for the first time that move.
Is Hercules Worth It?
Hercules is a cool card addition, but because he fits into only a few specific decks/archetypes (and comes in at a whopping 4-Cost),it’s a good idea to waitto grab this card until it is included in a series drop or appears in a later Spotlight Cache. Players who enjoy playing move decks or those who have a lot of Spotlight Keys saved up may enjoy Hercules on day one, but for the vast majority of players, this card will be a weak release.
