Marvel Snap: Best Blob Decks

Marvel Snap’s newly released card, Blob, can be a real powerhouse. This guide can help you fit him into a deck.

Havok’s ability, like many other recent additions, seems to be a double-edged sword. This is why it is important to stick him into the right deck and employ the right strategy when playing the card. This guide can help you with that!

Best Havok Decks

Havok’s ability states “After each turn, you lose 1 Max Energy and this gains +4 Power.” This means that whatever turn Havok is played on will be the cap for total Energy the rest of the game. If Havok is played on turn two, players will have two Energy for the entire game. To play Havok successfully, players will have to capitalize on a few different strategies. When Havok is played down, his Power will grow by four each turn. Players can embrace this and rely on low-Cost cards to negate his Max Energy-leeching Ability to win the game. They can also push Havok to their opponent’s side of the board using Viper.

The decks below will outline how players can use Havok in adisruptivecapacity, useMister Negativeto sidestep the Max Energy issue, and use alow-Cost deckto ignore the Max Energy problem by filling the board with one and two-Cost cards.

Marvel Snap’s Havok card surrounded by Mister Negative, Armor, Viper, and Elsa Bloodstone.

After each turn, you lose 1 Max Energy and this gains +4 Power.

Havok Junk Deck

This deck is not as much about playing Havok as it is about sending Havok to your opponent’s side of the board. AHavok on turn twofollowed byViper on turn threeis an easy way to get an opponent to retreat. Cards in this deck (likeIceman,Black Widow,Green Goblin, andDebrii) are all about disrupting your opponents' strategy and ensuring their retreat. Viper can also be used here to throwThe HoodandSentry’s Void across the board as well.Shang-Chiserves as a backup plan just in case the opponent plays a high-Power card or your thrown Havok gets bloated by the final turn.

With this deck, high-Power won’t necessarily be the winning strategy. Disrupting your opponent and lowering the Power on their side of the board is key.

Marvel Snap’s Havok deck comprised of Iceman, The Hood, Black Widow, Carnage, Viper, Cosmo, Debrii, Green Goblin, Polaris, Shang-Chi, The Sentry, and of course, Havok.

Marvel Snap Havok deck comprised of Ravonna Renslayer, Zabu, Ironheart, Magik, Mystique, Darkhawk, Mister Negative, Shang-Chi, Iron Man, White Tiger, Arnim Zola, and Havok.

Havok Mister Negative Deck

The star player in this deck isMister Negative. Negative is a great way to lessen the impact of Havok’s Max Energy-reducing Ability. If every card has 0-Cost, you don’t need any Energy!Havok,Mystique,Darkhawk,Iron Man, andArnim Zolawill all have 0-Cost after Mister Negative is played. This can lead to some serious Power being thrown on the board at once. An Iron Man to Mystique combo is deadly for the opponent.

Using Arnim Zola to duplicate Iron Man to the other two lanes is also a great way to surprise the opponent on turn six and secure some Cubes.Zabushould be played down as fast as possible so Mister Negative has a reduced Cost.Magikcan also add a turn seven to the game, allowing more time for the Mister Negative interaction to take place.

Marvel Snap Havok deck comprised of Wasp, Kitty Pryde, Nebula, Nico Minoru, Nightcrawler, Spider-Ham, Armor, Elsa Bloodstone, Jeff, Mysterio, Hit Monkey, and Havok.

Havok Bloodstone Deck

This Havok/Bloodstone deck can really pack a punch. Elsa Bloodstone was pretty impactful when she was released in October and has continued to be a heavy hitter in Loki and bounce decks. The strategy for this deck is to play Elsa down as soon as possible to give the other cards a boost when they fill a lane. Since all the cards in this deck are low-Cost, players can put Havok into play as early as they want without a ton of consequence.

Armorcan be used to protect Havok, wherever he is played. Movement cards likeJeffandNightcrawlercan soak up the extra lane-filling Power fromElsa Bloodstoneand then move out of the way for other cards to benefit.Hit Monkey,Mysterio, and evenWaspare great turn six enders to get a hefty amount of Power on the board at once.Nebulaserves as a bit of a lane-controller andSpider-Hamexists here just to disrupt the opponent. If any card can be swapped in and out of this deck, it’s Spider-Ham.

Marvel Snap: Best Werewolf By Night Decks

If you’re trying to find the best use of Werewolf By Night in Marvel Snap, this guide can help!

Best Havok Counters

Havok doesn’t have a ton of counters as his ability is neither On Reveal of Ongiong. This means the only real issues Havok will face are from cards that have the ability to destroy him (likeShang-ChiorAlioth) or cards that can change his Power (likeShadow KingorValkyrie). Taking a look at the game’s current meta, Shang-Chi is the only real threat to Havok as the other counters aren’t played often enough to be planned for.

Best Havok Synergies

Havok has quite a few synergies in the game. Synergy cards for Havok are going to focus on protecting him from being destroyed (Armor), countering the negative effects of his Ability (Psylocke,Viper, orElectro), or making him easier to play on the board (Mister Negative). Below is a breakdown of each card that can be played well with Havok and exactly how they will interact with each other.

Card Ability

How It Synergizes

Ongoing: Cards here can’t be destroyed.

Armor keeps Havok safe from Shang-Chi.

On Reveal: +1 Max Energy.Ongoing: you’re able to only play 1 card a turn.

Electro’sOn Revealcan help lessen the impact of Havok’s Energy-stealing Ability.

On Reveal: Swap the Power and Cost of all cards in your deck.

Mr. Negative swaps Havok’s Cost & Power, making him start off on the board much stronger.

On Reveal: Next turn, you get +1 Energy.

Psylocke can help boost your Energy for a turn.

Ongoing: Your cards with 1 or less Power cost 1 less (Minimum 1).

Ravonna lowers the cost of Havok (and other low-Power cards).

On Reveal: One of your other cards here switches sides.

Viper can move Havok to an opponent’s side of the board, giving them his negative side effects.

Is Havok Worth It?

Havok is aseries four card(the only series four card featured in the Hellfire Gala season). This means that he can be purchased in theToken Shop for 3,000 Tokens. Players wanting to save those precious Tokens for the Series Five cards can also obtain Havok via the weekly Spotlight Caches. From December 19 to December 25, Havok will be featured in the Spotlight Cache alongsideNico MinoruandLegion.

Because this card has such a specific Ability, there is quite a bit of variation in his gameplay strategy. you may either boot him to the opponent’s side of the board or take the negative aspects of his Ability on the chin. Either way, he has a lot of potential in the current meta. Because of this,Havok is worth grabbing on debut, even if it is only to experiment with this new unique card. Players who don’t grab Havok on release will always have the ability to grab the card during later Spotlight Caches.
