Speaking toInsider Gamingat the Marvel Rivals Ignite Mid-Season Finals in China, game director Guangguang confirmed that they have already prepared the next 12 months of content.
Guangguang has shared that they have begun work on characters set to be released this time in 2026. The developer revealed that it takes the studio “about a year” to bring a new character in Marvel Rivals to life, encompassing concept art, modeling, animation, voice acting, and more.
While most live-service games reveal the slate of content and updates they have planned, NetEase has chosen not to do this, and Guangguang says it’s to maintain “freshness and surprises.” Well, I can’t say he’s wrong about that, since it’s a huge event for players whenever we’re near a season’s end, since we’re already looking forward to who the next hero drop is.
