Marvel RivalsandHelldivers 2’scommon feature enables players to spend the in-game currency to unlock items in the battle pass. Both games require players to grind for in-game currency by completing missions and objectives. However,Helldivers 2manages these transactions in a better way.

Marvel Rivalsis being accused of not letting players carry their leftover in-game currency (Chrono Tokens) to the next season. WhereasHelldivers 2’sWar Medals can easily be carried forward without any difficulty. This is one of the biggest criticisms faced by the game at the moment.
Marvel Rivals needs a better way to manage its Chrono Tokens
The Chrono Tokens in the game are the currency that enables players to unlock battle pass items, similar to the system in Helldivers 2; however, unlike the War Medals in the latter, the remaining Chrono Tokens will not be available in the next season.
Players are extremely furious about this since most of them are not left with anything to spend it on. There are not enough items to utilize all of the Chrono Tokens in the game, and most of the players have been grinding the game for some extra currency; now all they are left with is a lot of money with nothing to spend it on.

The current system inHelldivers 2is so much better; it enables users to save the in-game currency for the future, which helps build a much healthier relationship with the game as opposed to forcing players to grind for it in each season.
There are other ways of ensuring balance in the game, rather than taking away players’ currency. This discourages players and makes them feel like the hours they spent on the game were not worth a dime. The game was also accused ofstabbing players in the back due to one alleged reason.

Marvel Rivals’ approach discourages player interaction
By taking away the reward element from the game, the developers establish grounds where players are often left feeling like their grind is not worth anything in the game, which in turn leads to less player interaction eventually.
There needs to be a better system in place if NetEase wishes to stay relevant in the long run.Marvel Rivalsis still quite young, and there is enough time for the developer to come up with a fix. The gamealso has a design flaw that needs fixing.

It does not need to follow in the footsteps ofHelldivers 2, but it does need to come up with a solution and address players’ grievances without further delay. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
