Yes, Jenny Shimizu and Madonna actually happened! The 66-year-old pop star made it big during the 80s and 90s for her efforts in the music industry. She released some of the biggest albums in music starting withLike a Virgin(1984), followed byTrue Blue(1986),The Immaculate Collection(1990), andLike a Prayer(1989) which is probably her best release to date.
Putting aside all the fame and glamour that followed after she came into the limelight, Madonna, born Madonna Louise Ciccone, was dubbed “Queen of Pop” by fans and critics worldwide, much like how one of her exes was called the “King of Pop”. Back in the 90s,Jenny Shimizuwas arguably the biggest model on the block working with several fashion experts including Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, and Prada. Impressively, the Japanese-American model became the first Asian to open a catwalk event for Prada.
But it was during the peak of her career that she got tangled up withMadonna, who was notorious for living a carefree lifestyle that not many people were open to back in the day. In an episode of Hulu’s docuseriesIn Vogue: The 90s, Shimizu described their bond by saying,
I mean, you’re not gonna say no to Madonna in the ’90s… Not only was it great feeling like a high class hooker, because really it was. You’d get a phone call like, ‘Hey can you meet me at my Paris show. You’re in Europe right?’
Shimizu elaborated on it further by stating that she would fly down to where Madonna was right after a shoot or an event. She added,
So I’d be like, ‘Yeah, I’m just finishing Prada. Right after Prada, I’ll catch a plane over.’ And I would. I’d go over to her hotel, to the Ritz, at like 4 in the morning, have s*x, and then fly back to Milan.
This is quite reminiscent of the time Madonna was involved with Dennis Rodman, a former 5x NBA Champion who played for the Chicago Bulls. The pop icon would ask Rodman to meet her at random points during the day.
In an interview with105.1 FM The Breakfast Club, Rodman revealed that Madonna once flew him down in a G5 to meet her. Rodman was rolling dice in Las Vegas while she was in New York City.

Around the time Madonna and Jenny Shimizu hit it off, the model was also withLara Croft: Tomb Raideractress,Angelina Jolie. The two worked together on the set ofFoxfireand things began getting serious, for Jolie at least.
During an interview withInStyle, the actress revealed that she would’ve married Shimizu if she hadn’t gotten hitched to Jonny Lee Miller. Having been an openly gay model during a time when the world was less progressive, Shimizu explained that it was a tough environment.
While explaining how she felt after appearing on a billboard in New York City, she explained how CK helped her achieve stardom, in the docuseries. She said,
Being Japanese and having my parents going through internment camps, and being gay, and… to walk down the street and always get harassed in some way, for one second, seeing that campaign… it was such a, you know, it was a big statement.
Shimizu has been in a stable relationship with Michelle Harper, whom she met at a party back in 2012. They eventually got married in 2014 and have been together ever since.
