With only several weeks left until the end of the regular season in the 2022 LCK Summer, middle-of-the-pack teams such as DRX, KDF, and KT Rolster battle for their tentative playoff spot by showing off unusual strategies without hesitation. Teams like GEN andT1, on the other hand, are in a fierce competition to claim their top spot before the summer season heads to the playoff stage.

Yesterday, GEN was under the spotlight against Liiv SANDBOX to maintain their top place while DWG went up against DRX to secure their third place heading to next week. For those who didn’t have enough time to watch the two series, here is the recap of day 3 of week 6 in the League Championship Korea.

The opening match of the series between GEN and Liiv SANDBOX saw Lee Chae “Prince” Hwan and his teammates struggle to suffocate the map away from their opponents, but they did complete the match with a better kill and KDA score. LSB not only survived until the late stage, but they also handed the lead at certain times during the match, especially towards the mid-phase.

GEN, on the flip side, was chasing skirmishes around the bottom lane, hoping to find some advantages that could empower their composition. At the very end, GEN secured neutral objectives, took the vision control of the map, and showed off their exceptional macro play. Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon led his team to victory with his solid LeBlanc performance, ending the game with a 7/3/3 scoreline.

Morgana Shined In Peanut’s Hands

Game 2 was all about Park ‘‘Ruler’’ Jae-hyuk’s domination. It was clear that Liiv SANDBOX should not have let him pick his favorite champion in the decider match. With the hopes of answering Jinx in the late game by playing around Aphelios, LSB aimed to go head-to-head in skirmishes. However, what they forgot was the talent difference between the two teams. Morgana has been picked for the first time in jungle position, and Han ‘‘Peanut’’ Wang-ho ruled over the map, utilizing her versatile skill set in the best possible way. GEN wasted no time in closing the game and capturing their fourth win in a row.

DRX, on the second series of the day, breezed past Damwon KIA 2-1 to move up to fifth place as Kwangdong Freecs has now fallen out of the playoff places following their loss against T1 yesterday.

GEN will go up against Hanwha Life Esports on Sunday to capture another perfect week as T1 will take on Fredit BRION today to extend their phenomenal winning streak to seven games. You can watch the remaining matches on the official LCKTwitchchannel.
