Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Sells Over One Million Units In First Day
On its launch day the official Warhose StudiosTwitter/X account announcedthat they have sold one million copies of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
It seems this was enough to recoup the game’s development cost and then some. Daniel Vávra, co-founder of Warhorse Studios, talked about the game’s release with Czech publicationSeznam Zprávy.
The translated text (viaGames Radar) confirms the action-RPG turned a profit on its very first day. Note that the statement below is translated, and as such, some things could be misinterprted or taken out of context. “Before the launch, we were betting in the studio on how many copies we could sell. “And I won. I missed by 300 units. We’re happy with the numbers, and if the trend continues at the same pace, it will be great.” Vávra mentioned.
This is very good news, not just for Warhorse, but the industry as a whole. With ballooning development costs, it’s nice to see a studio able to recoup their investment and ensure the security of their staff.
