With the path home now safe to travel, continue toward your map marker until you find Ernie grazing in an open field. If you’d like, try to have a conversation with him. He’ll respond as best he can.

Unfortunately, Ernie is stubborn as a mule and won’t simply follow you back home, carrot in your pocket be damned.
