Henry may not have been the most handy warrior at the beginning of the original KCD, but thanks to his escapades post-Skalitz, Henry is now a rather capable fighter, whether that be unarmed or with a blade.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Complete Guide and Walkthrough

It’s an optional quest, but one that is very worth doing, not only because there’s lots of combat, but also because there are lots of spoils to be had.

However, due to the excess of combat, and the fact that stealth is all but necessary, you’ll probably want to have this guide open as you go about completing Bellatores.

Riding Out With Jan Pozy In KCD2

How to Start Bellatores

As mentioned, to begin this KCD2 side quest, you’ll want to start off by heading to Bylany, just southwest of Kuttenburg. If you’re wondering where that is, it’s the area where you wished out the corpse from the pool of excrementduring The Devil’s Pack.

Once here, you’ll notice a regal-looking fellow standing outside the tavern, and upon spotting you, they will call you over.

They are looking for someone brave enough to accompany them to the area where their men were attacked by Cumans, and to help them retake their fortress.

Obviously, this is a fool’s errand and a death wish, but Henry leaps at pretty much all of these opportunities, so you should help with this one, too.

Finding The Cumans With Jan Pozy KCD2

After you agree, hop on your horse and ride out to the ambush area with Jan Posy.

Note: Jan Posy wants to ride out there, and then, if you leave the immediate area and put off this quest, the quest will automatically fail. So don’t talk to Jan Posy until you are ready to dedicate time to this quest.

Freeing Miroslav In KCD2

Dealing With the Bandits

After riding to the site of the broken wagon where all of Jan Posy’s men now lie dead, you’ll encounter a gang of looters picking at their remains. Your companion will immediately get angry with this and want to tear them limb from limb.

However, if you’re looking to avoid bloodshed and potential injury, you may convince Jan Posy to spare them, allowing the bandits to tell stories of his mercy and generosity. This will appeal to him, and they’ll flee without any need to bloody your blade.

Starting as you mean to go on is a great way to make a first impression.

After this, Jan will ask you to find the Priest who accompanied them on their journey to Kuttenburg. You’ll find him closest to the body of water nearby, leaning against a tree very much dead.

With this news, he’ll suggest that you loot the bodies as they will no longer need their belongings, and will especially suggest that you equip the nearby Halberd.

At this point in the game, you probably have much better weapons, so only take it if you really want to. It can be handy due to its long-range stabbing capabilities, but if you have a favorite weapon you’d rather use, just leave it.

But do ensure to loot all the bodies nearby, as they have a bunch of Gloschen, good armor, and a couple of other handy items that can either be used or sold later.

Then, once you’re satisfied, speak to Jan again and tell him you’re ready to go looking for the Cumans.

Finding The Cumans

The next section of the quest pretty much takes care of itself. All you need to do is follow Jan through the forest, and you will eventually come across a young woman named Fiolka.

She will tell you that the Cumans are hiding out in the nearby ruins, and will point you in the right direction. You simply need to follow Jan the rest of the way, and you’ll find the Cumans.

There are loads of them, so you’ll need to devise a plan, and you’ll have a few options.

You can either go with Jan’s plan and rush the ruins, get right amongst the crowd of Cumans, and this will neutralize the archers. Or alternatively, you can tell Jan to stay put and try to take the Cumans out via the stealthy approach.

I would suggest that you tell Jan that you’re going to go in quietly, as this will ensure he doesn’t give away your position, and then you may go about sneaking into the camp to free Miroslav, which means you’ll have better odds of survival.

If you choose to save Miroslav, Jan will give you their sword so that Miroslav will be able to lend a hand in battle. Take it, and then begin devising a route through the Cumans.

How to Save Miroslav

While it might be tempting to sneak around the perimeter of the ruins and go in the back way, there’s no real path that allows for that. So, you will need to carve a path through them.

Firstly, I would suggest that you try to take the ruins at night, as this ensures that you have the least chance of being detected. Plus, I wouldalso suggest you tell Mutt to stay,as they will give away your spot.

Thirdly, I would also warn players against trying to stealth kill any of the Cumans, as they are heavily armed and will likely survive the attempt and alert their friends.

The key to success here is to lure guards away from their posts by using pebbles, and if you’re able to manage this, you’ll find Miroslav bound through a small archway just beyond the camp.

Sneak in here, free him from his binds, and then give him a weapon to defend himself with. As soon as you do, they will give away your position, so be ready to fight.

Fighting the Cumans

The fight against the Cumans is a pretty tough one, and it’s very easy to get overwhelmed and outnumbered if you aren’t careful.

As soon as you free Miroslav, I would suggest you immediately rush out of the contained holding area past him and focus on the guard at the door. You should be able to get a few free shots in and take them out fast.

Soon, there will be at least 2-3 Cumans on you. It’s best to take out the unarmed ones fast with a few quick stab attacks, as they will only get in the way.

After taking out the weaker Cumans, this should only leave the well-kitted-out enemies. These are tough fights, so you’ll want to try to stay close to Miroslav and Jan to avoid getting outnumbered.

After you defeat the last Cuman at the camp, you can debrief with the pair, and the ruins will be yours.

I found that if you ran from the camp, gained an undetected status, and went back again, all guards returned to their post. So, if you get overwhelmed, running and returning is an option. Jan and Miroslav will disappear if you do this However, you have been warned.

Bellatores Rewards

After the fight, you will be rewarded with 500 Gloschen from Jan and Miroslav, along with a fun anecdote about Miroslav’s self-love routines.

However, I would also urge players to loot the chests within the camp, as well as the bodies of the fallen Cumans, as there are a lot of great items, armor, and Gloschen to be had.

Alongside this, players will also be able to complete the follow-on quest from this one. But, they will have to wait a few in-game days and return to the ruins before they are able to begin this quest.
