While most Sorcerers have a clear understanding of the path they are walking, Geto is highly delusional and seems to be tangled in the web of right and wrong. There’s no doubting his powers and his love for his beloved Sorcerer mates, but he doesn’t seem to go very well with the non-shamans. In fact, he got so frustrated with them that season 2, episode 5 ofJujutsu Kaisenrevealed that Geto plotted the mass murder of a whole village, killing 112 innocent people. This was an unexpected jolt for everyone, most notably for Gojo, theHonored One.

While Gojo didn’t want to believe that Geto was really the one behind these heinous crimes, the use of Cursed Spirit Manipulation confirmed his involvement, and Geto himself confessed to Nobara about his doings. But what made a trustworthy guy like Geto go to such an extent, and what was he trying to attain with all this?

What Does Suguru Geto Want?

The first thing that pops into our head is, what made Geto go to such lengths? He lived a great life with his fellow Sorcerer mates, and he should have been proud of saving humanity from the heinous Curses, but instead, he took a dark path, betraying everything he once stood for. Suguru Geto never actually liked fighting; well, none of the Sorcerers did, butGeto blamed the non-Sorcerers for the birth of the Curses and found it pointless to fight for them. He always looked down upon the non-Sorcerers and called them “monkeys.”

Well, it’s completely true that non-Sorcerers were the reason why Curses were born in the first place. As explained in the episode, non-shamans released more Cursed Energy as compared to the Sorcerers due to their inability to control that energy. Carried away by this fact,Suguru Geto wanted to eliminate all the non-Sorceres from the world and build a world where only the Sorcerers existed. He further believed that being a Sorcerer was the next step in the ladder of evolution, and humans would ultimately learn how to control their Cursed Energy by the fear of being eliminated.

What Made Suguru Geto Turn Evil?

Geto always had a superiority complex when compared to normal humans and considered them worthless, but let’s just say these thoughts were not yet on the surface of his mind before the incident with Riko Amanai took place. Geto always considered the Sorcerers as his real family and never wanted to see them being sacrificed for non-shamans.However, Riko Amanai’s death was a major shock for Geto, and he blamed her demise on the non-Sorcerers.With this, his beliefs strengthened, and he took the first step to creating his ideal world by killing 112 people without any remorse.

While rescuing Riko Amanai from the Star Religious Group, Geto witnessed the cruelty of non-Sorceres who clapped and celebrated her death. At that time, Geto avoided killing them as he still believed that there must be a reason to kill. However, in season 2, episode 5, he joined the same organization as their leader and took revenge for Riko’s death by killing its members and saving the two Sorcerer girls from their captivity.
