However, this year has much more in store for JJK fans. After making us wait for more than two years, MAPPA is finally coming back with the much-awaited Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen aired in 2020, and as expected from a MAPPA project, it got smashing viewership. However, as the mammoth animation studio got a little too busy with projects likeAttack on TitanandChainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen fans had to wait a lot longer than expected for Season 2. Well, it feels good to say that the wait is now almost over.
When Does Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Come Out?
Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen is scheduled to premiere on Crunchyroll thisThursday, July 6th, 2023. The episode will drop on Japan’s local network at 8:00 AM PT (Pacific Timing);however, global fans can catch the episode exclusively on Crunchyroll. The streaming platform will simulcast the new season and has officially confirmed that Episode 1 will be available to watch at10 AM PT (Pacific Timing).However, the release timing will vary depending on your region, so here’s the regional breakdown of the release time:
We’ve seen Crunchyroll’s servers going down at the time of big releases like Attack on Titan and, most recently, Demon Slayer Season 3’s final episode. So, you can expect something similar to transpire with the premiere of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode Count
MAPPA has yet to give an official word on JJK Season 2’s episode count, but the official website hasconfirmedthat the upcoming season will run for two cours. If that’s true, you can expect the season to feature around 24 episodes. Season 2 will cover two major arcs from the manga series – Hidden Inventory and Shibuya Incident.
The first five episodes will focus on the Hidden Inventory Arc, and after that, MAPPA will dedicate two episodes for the recaps of Episodes 1-5, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, and Season 1 (Although this may feel unnecessary). Then, after being absent for one week, the anime will start the Shibuya Incident Arc.
