The vivid descriptions of Sukuna’s dominance and Yuji’s brave intervention create an exciting atmosphere, and the same momentum is carried forward in the upcoming chapter. From Yuta stepping up into the battle to Sukuna appreciating Yuji’s growth, the chapter has some really noteworthy moments.

After slashing Yuji, Sukuna looked at the aftermath. Higuruma was gone, but Sukuna thought he had taken Kamutome with him. In the meantime, Yuji’s stomach had healed completely. Kirara and Ui Ui hurriedly carried Higuruma’s body away, and Sukuna realized Ui Ui had instant teleportation. He figured they were sending the injured to Shoko, and that’s why Gojo’s body is missing from the scene as well. Of course, Gojo’s missing body might also hint at the Honored One’s return, but it’s hard to say what Gege Sensei is cooking.
Sukuna knew using RCT on others was usually less effective, but Yuji had learned it in just one month. A surprising skill for a short period!
Sukuna, sensing Yuji’s improvement, gets excited, feeling that he will now have someone stronger to play with. To Yuji’s surprise, Sukuna seemed lost in thought, and Sukuna wondered if he was disappointed about Higuruma’s death. Yet, he reassured himself, claiming he never sought satisfaction from others. For Sukuna, toying with people’s lives was the ultimate way to pass the time until his end. Sukuna admitted he never pondered an ideal or a wish beyond one’s life. To the sorcerers, their ideal seemed to be ending him.
We see more of Sukuna’s inner thoughts! Sukuna pondered his unease witnessing people pursue their ideals, reminiscent of similar encounters a millennium ago. It dawned on him that Yuji was the source of these conflicting emotions. Sukuna acknowledged that no matter how many times he shattered Yuji’s soul, he would persistently return. He grudgingly recognized that even someone much weaker could defy him with an unwavering commitment to their ideals, but this was an unpleasant feeling to him. Determined, Sukuna vowed to slice through Yuji’s ideals.
A sudden burst of light surprised everyone. Kogane revealed a new rule: Megumi Fushiguro now held the authority to activate the merger between Tengen and Humanity. Kusakabe speculated on Kenjaku’s backup plan, linking it to Yuta’s successful ambush and Kenjaku’s death. Sukuna, malevolent as ever, declared his intent to start by killing Yuji and all Culling Game players. He further hinted at toying with the product of the Tengen merger, talking about Megumi.
Suddenly, Yuta entered the battlefield, surprising everyone. Sukuna challenged Yuta to warn him, “If you don’t kill me, all the humans you love will die.” But suddenly, Rika emerged, attempting to crush Sukuna, who identified her as the Queen of Curses.
