The actor returns to the big screen with a new horror thriller for the summer. Cage’s career received a resurgence after his appearances in the said genre, proving he could do other acting styles other than action and drama.
Oz Perkins Is Mind-Blown By Nicolas Cage’s Attitude On The Set ofLonglegs
Speaking withGamesRadar,Longlegsdirector Oz Perkins talked about working withNicolas Cageon his upcoming horror movie. He said nothing but praise for theGhost Riderstar and profusely commended his talent as a seasoned actor.
He’s intensely prepared. He has read everything. He’s seen every movie that you could ever want to reference. He knows everybody’s name. He knows every performance, he can quote every song. He likes all the same things you do. He’s in complete control of his instrument. He’s just on it. It was a privilege.
The filmmaker further compared his collaboration with the actor to “having a racehorse in your movie.” He explained that Cage would just do his own thing on set and Perkins would just stand by to make sure the actor does not go too far or off the direction.

He showered Cage with so many compliments and said he could not imagine directing the actor “with a strong hand” and all he needed was a “very gentle touch.” Basically, he meant that it did not take him a lot of effort to supervise the actor because he already knew what he was doing.
The Controversial Feud Between Kathleen Turner And Nicolas Cage
Perkins may be in awe of Cage’s repertoire of talent, but the actor’s costar in 1986’sPeggy Sue Got Married, Kathleen Turner, felt otherwise. The onscreen lovers notably had an infamous feud while filmingFrancis Ford Coppola’s comedy-drama movie.
In her interview withVulture, she boldly expressed her opinion of Cage as a movie costar.
He [Nicolas Cage] was very difficult on set. But the director allowed what Nicolas wanted to do with his role, so I wasn’t in a position to do much except play with what I’d been given. If anything, it [Cage’s portrayal] only further illustrated my character’s disillusionment with the past. The way I saw it was, yeah, he was that a**hole.
The issue came when Cage decided to use a high-pitched voice and a fake set of teeth to portray his character. Turner was not a fan of his acting style. It’s not uncommon for actors to formdisagreementon set and this is one of the many instances.
