HBO’sEuphoriatook the world by storm in 2019 and continued its momentum after the premiere of Season 2. Its insane popularity among fans warranted a series renewal. Taking this into consideration, many have been wondering why it is taking so long for Season 3 to arrive.

It does not help that many of its loyal viewers have already lost interest in the narrative. This long delay, paired with the controversial behind-the-scenes drama, is not helping the show retain its fanbase.
What’s CausingEuphoria’s Massive Delay?
In February 2022, the series was renewed for a third season. Now, it has been two years and fans aren’t getting positive updates about it, and to make it worse, there have been rumors that it has been canceled for good. Thankfully, HBO issued a statement viaThe Independentand debunked the claim that the show is getting axed.
Euphoria is going in to production in 2025. Nothing has changed.

If the show begins filming next year, it could mean that the third installment might get a 2026 release. Early this year, it was confirmed that the script was still being written. The 2023 writers’ strike has clearly affected its progress, but it seemed like there’s another reason for the delay.

An insider spoke withThe Hollywood Reporterand revealed thatZendayaand series creatorSam Levinsonmay have been feuding. The outlet stated that the cause of their possible rift was the latter giving more attention to HBO’sThe Idol. This brought so much frustration to the Marvel actress because her show had been left hanging for two years now.
Another source told the outlet that people were blaming Levinson but it was Zendaya and her numerous film projects that have been affecting the show’s progress. Either way, the alleged fractured relationship between the pair largely contributes to why we still haven’t got Season 3.

It’s sad to see a once-promising television project slowly plummet as fans’ interest in it gradually declines. The long wait is absolutely the culprit, and viewers may have already found new shows to devote their time to instead of patiently waiting for something uncertain.
Netizens Have Given Up onEuphoria
On Twitter,Euphoriafans have already expressed their disinterest in the show. It has been quite a while since the last episode aired, and for a series that does not even need much visual effects and other tricky cinematography, the long wait might not even be worth it.
Dang I was fine letting it go guys…

please just let this show gopic.twitter.com/AgmyK2Z6uA
Girl we are tired. Just let the show go…

we would not be surprised if it actually got cancelled
like atp they can keep it… 😭
Based on their sentiments, most fans have given up on the show. If HBO and its team of creatives won’t come up with positive updates in the next few months, then fans may totally abandon the series.
Euphoriais currently available to watch on HBO.
