Akira Toriyama’s last contribution to theDragon Ballfranchise,Dragon Ball DAIMA, is slowly becoming one of the fan-favorite series as it explores the many different aspects of theDragon Ballnarrative. Some of them are newly introduced to the story, while others are old references included from the previous storylines that were left unattended.

One such aspect thatDragon Ball DAIMAhas exclusively focused on is the relationship between Vegeta and Bulma. While the two have been husband and wife for quite some time, they do not usually act like one. This is mainly because of their different personalities, but even then fans have hoped for them to get closer for the longest time.

And it appears likeDragon Ball DAIMAis, at last, providing fans with the relationship they have always desired between Vegeta and Bulma. The series has multiple scenes that are just dedicated to the two exploring their relationship and hinting at the experiences they have with each other in theDragon Ballstoryline.

Vegeta and Bulma have been together for a long time, but the franchise has never given any kind of special focus to their relationship. Although there were a few moments where the two showed affection towards each other, it did not give much detail about their relationship toDragon Ballfans.DAIMA,on the other hand, explores their relationship more profoundly.

The newDragon Ballseries has special moments that showcase Vegeta and Bulma’s love for each other in their own ways. From Vegeta’s possessiveness towards Bulma to his being protective of her when he senses danger,Dragon Ball DAIMAmakes sure that the bond between the two doesn’t go unnoticed like the previousDragon Ballseries.

Through his actions, Vegeta has explicitlyrevealed what Bulma means to himand how close they have come after being through so much. Bulma has turned him into a family man, and while he won’t accept it,Dragon Ball DAIMAshows the change in Vegeta because of Bulma’s influence on him as his wife.

Dragon Ballfans have mixed reactions to Vegeta and Bulma’s relationship

While the newfound portrayal of Vegeta and Bulma’s relationship inDragon Ball DAIMAcertainly adds substance to the narrative of the series, it also affectsVegeta’s individual character development.Although he is growing as a character, his egotistic and arrogant personality, which was loved by fans, is being slowly bent.

This was seen in the latestDragon Ball DAIMAepisode where, after fighting a major battle, Goku offers a healing “bug” to Vegeta, and he refuses to eat it, claiming that he does not eat insects and has become more refined.

Dragon Ballfans instantly understood that this was the result of Bulma’s influence on him and called Vegeta out for it.

bulma really saw vegeta and said “i can fix him” and DID IT

Bulma really said “I’m gonna make this man a little more refined” and boy she did, iirc he cooks too now?

Irrespective of this, Vegeta’s growth as a husband is truly commendable, and the Saiyan Prince has come a long way. It may look like he has left the old, egotistic Vegeta from the previousDragon Ballstorylines behind, but it has not affected his strength at all, as he proved in the latest episode ofDragon Ball DAIMA.

Dragon Ball DAIMAis available to watch on Crunchyroll.
