I hated him because he was with my mother, and I didn’t understand why anyone could be with such a nasty, mean person. I thought he must be the same way.
It also did not help after Previn overheard him telling her mother,Mia Farrow, to consult a psychologist because he thought she was inordinately shy. Her loathing of the director intensified after this.
Allen was aware of it, and one time, he confronted her and said she always had that look on him as if she wanted to strike him with a knife. Their relationship did not stay like this for a long time. When she broke her ankle during a soccer match in 11th grade, he suggested she should see a doctor, and then offered to take her to school every morning since she was injured.

They spent more time together, and Previn saw that Allen’s relationship with his mother turned sour. After Farrow gave birth to Satchel, she poured all her attention into her child. “She was obsessed with him, completely obsessed,” Allen remarked.
