In the upcoming film, the star will be playing the role of former UFC Middleweight fighter Elwood Dalton, who is recruited as the head bouncer of a Florida Keys Road House. Gyllenhaal’s godly ripped physique in the film needed the actor to go through an unreal workout and diet routine.

However, his transformation for the 2024 remake of the Patrick Swayze classic has attracted eyeballs for several reasons. TheSpider-Man: Far From Homeactor revealed that the process was so intense that he could not even take the risk of having a chip.

TheLove & Other Drugsfame explained that in a particular scene fromRoad House,where he is seen taking a plate of tacos, the scene immediately cuts to black. He added that he was on a strict regime, and even“one chip” would have destroyed it all.
“If you really look. I don’t eat tacos. You see me take the plate and I say thank you and then the scene cuts you never actually see me take a mouthful. I was on a strict regimen, one chip would have done the whole thing.”

Earlier, Jake Gyllenhaal shared withMen’s Healththat the diet plan played a massive part in his transformation. It was equally important and painful as theworkout regimeneeded the actor to sacrifice sweets for the role. Although the actor had to give up a lot for the role, he never skipped any meals.
“In this case, there were things that were taken away, but I had a hell of a lot more calories that I could consume.”

The team behind the Doug Liman directorial was so passionate that Gyllenhaal’s trainer Jason Walsh and his associates formulated a new plant-based formula to drink. The actor had some issues digesting whey protein supplements, and therefore, Walsh’s formula also contributed a lot to the 43-year-old’s physique.

Jake Gyllenhaal went to extreme lengths to prepare for hisRoad Houserole. He religiously worked under trainer Jason Walsh to bring down his weight from 205 pounds to 184 pounds and shred down to 5% body fat. Walsh was filled with praise for the actor and made it clear that even a good team and the best trainer can’t succeed if“you don’t have the right person to do it all.”

Vertical Climber also proved to be an important component in the process.
