Last year, Billie Eilish came out as queer, even though she didn’t intend to. While the pop star didn’t shy away from acknowledging her attraction for women, it was the song,Lunch, from her third studio album,Hit Me Hard and Soft, which helped the Grammy winner come to terms with her sexuality.
But even though she had no plans to put her sexuality front and center as Eilish didn’t want to put a label on it, the acclaimed artist was a little dumbfounded that her fans didn’t realize it earlier.

I’m just like, ‘Why can’t we just exist?’ I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Whoops. But I saw the article, and I was like, ‘Oh I guess I came out today.’ Okay, cool. It’s exciting to me, because I guess people didn’t know, but it’s cool that they know.
Eilish further added that she doesn’t“really believe in coming out”and refused to label her sexuality, as the singer believes each person has their own journey.
