Unfortunately, it was canceled and Sony might have favored the open-world samurai title over whatever the developers were working on. The gameplay and animations are nearly identical to what the studio presented inGhost of Tsushimaeven with the combat.
Perhaps this was the intended project before the developers changed their minds at the last minute. Despite its popularity, not everyone appreciates the firstGhost of Tsushima. Perhaps the setting and gameplay did not appeal to the masses, and Sony probably thought this canceled project would not fare any better.
