There are a lot of scenes inThe Boysthat are horrifyingly grotesque, be it sexually explicit or a gory mess of a fight scene. However, what is often lost in the morbidity of the moment is how the actors pull these scenes off. Antony Starr, talking about one such scene in Season 2 ofThe Boys, was very excited to share how it would be pulled off.

In one particular scene with Stormfront, she and Homelander engaged in a particularly odd intimate scene, at least with respect to the overall shooting. Speaking with TV Line when the Season was freshly aired, Starr talked about how exciting the specifics of the scene were, which involved him wearing knee pads and other safety equipment.

Antony Starr found his scene with Stormfront interesting

Speaking about the scene between Homelander and Stormfront,Antony Starrrevealed toTV Linewhat excited him about the shooting of the scene. He said:

That’s probably one of the more interesting romantic things I’ve ever done. Let me put it this way: Whenever I’ve done a love scene in the past, I’ve never had to talk to the stunts team and get body armor put on and elbow and knee pads. I can say that was a whopping great first.

Given that the scene literally had the two powerhouses engaging in some very violent intimate activities, the actors would have had to take some very unconventional approaches to filming the scene.

The prep that they might have to do for the scene would be unique, in the sense that it would have the intimacy coordinators on set work with the stunt team, something that is not often the case.

What’s next for Homelander inThe Boys?

Season 4 ofThe Boyshad one of the most diabolical endings, with most of our protagonists caught by pro-Homelander forces and Homelander essentially having control of the United States of America.

The only hope that the free world has left is a Billy Butcher who witnesses Ryan, the one thing that gave him hope, butcher his old friend, and now is in possession of the virus that can take down Homelander, and most of the superhero community.

Season 5 ofThe Boysis shaping up to be quite the finale, with a slew of factions set on a collision course. It remains to be seen whether Season 5 will remain true to the ending of the comics, or add some positive spin to the faiths of the characters, such that they become more palatable to the mainstream audience.
