Studio Zero triumphantly created a new IP withMetaphor: ReFantaziowhile drawing inspiration from other Atlus franchises likePersonaandShin Megami Tensei.

Even thoughMetaphor: ReFantaziocould be the kickoff to a new series, it doesn’t forget or ignore its roots.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Focuses On “Fear And Anxiety” To Be Relatable To All Demographics

Metaphor: ReFantazio will explore the “concept of human imagination and human feelings and thoughts”.

Just as the Masked Dancer Archetype pays homage toPersona, the Summoner Archetype reveres the series that started it all,Shin Megami Tensei.

Metaphor Re: FantazioTalk Eupha Quest

If you’re curious about those references or want to access one of the most devastating spell casters Archetype, let’s dive into how to unlock the Summoner Archetype inMetaphor: ReFantazio.

Prerequisites for Unlocking the Summoner Archetype

LikeJunah’s Masked Dancer Archetype, the Summoner Archetype is locked initially to Eupha and is an optional unlock despite her being a party member.

The main advantage of unlocking Archetypes tied to party members is that you won’t need any Virtue points, at least not in the initial rank stages.

The earliest you can start the process to unlock the Summoner Archetype is after completing the Dragon Temple on Virga Island, arguablyone of the toughest dungeons inMetaphor: ReFantazio.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Looks Like The High-Action Persona I Secretly Wished For

Suffice it to say, I’m pretty excited for Metaphor: ReFantazio.

After the Dragon Temple and its subsequent cutscenes, you’ll regain control of the protagonist just outside the Virga Island Inn, now in the village of Eht Ria.

Eupha will be nearby, next to a well, marked with a quest icon. Speak to her to initiateThe Trial of Malnova questandunlock the Land of Ceremony region.

How to Prepare for the Land of Ceremony

If it’s not clear by now, whenever you unlock a new dungeon, it’s agood idea to speak with the informant for some tips, even if they’re sometimes scarce.

But we’re here to give you more detailed advice on how to prepare for the Land of Ceremony, starting with a new mechanic.

Metaphor Re: Fantazio Edeni Power Regulate Weather Map

Edeni explains that he has the power to predict the weather, and he can even change the climate in a specific area for a price.

The first use is free, andit’s suggested that you adjust the weather in the Land of Ceremonysince the dungeon is always in a Heat state. In this weather, the party won’t gain extra turns when exploiting enemy weaknesses.

Subsequent uses of Edeni’s power cost either theAlmighty Golden Stew dishor20 Marbled Bluefin Tunas, but that’s a problem for another time.

With Edeni’s help, the weather in the Land of Ceremony will shift to Fine, making your journey through the dungeon and its battles much easier.

When you arrive in the Land of Ceremony, Gallica will detect a relic, an essential item for increasing your rank with Neuras andupgrading the Gunner Archetype.

The Land of Ceremony is populated by two main types of fodder enemies:

10 JRPGs That Deserve Full Remakes

Some fantastic JRPGs have been left behind over the years. These are the best classics that deserve full modernized remakes.

There are also a few pot-like enemies, but they self-destruct during exploration, so it’s rare to fight them.

The exploration of the Land of Ceremony is straightforward, like most side dungeons, but the key difference here is that it’s filled with Trance Crystals.

These are flower-like crystals that summon monsters endlessly until destroyed. The best way to deal with them is with a long-range Archetype like the Gunner orthe Faker archetype.

We recommend destroying the Trance Crystals as soon as possiblebecause their destruction eliminates all other enemies and rewards you with tons of experience.

After clearing the area and exploring, you’ll finally reach the door leading to the boss, marked by the presence of the save point cat.

How to Prepare for the Homo Pento Boss Fight

Just like the Kokasadors in Orbwise Path that required Junah in the party, the fight against Homo Pento demands that Eupha joins the battle—for the boss’s misfortune.

Since Homo Pento is weak to fire, and Eupha will probably be in the Summoner role, she can have access to Summon Dragon God, a powerful fire-based area Synthesis spell.

At the first boss' turn, it will summon a skeleton that will either heal or buff him. Then, Homo Pento will use wind magic. We recommend a party setup focused on fire magic Archetypes to ensure a swift and decisive victory. Our party consisted of:

We also had aMagic Seeker, but used the Flame Vanguard ability from the Commander Archetype to exploit the boss’s fire weakness.

In general, the fight against Homo Pento is straightforward, like most bosses inMetaphor: ReFantazio. Focus on the boss first, then deal with the minions.

Summon Dragon God is your most essential skill, as it’s an area spell that hits both the boss and their minions, granting extra turns for exploiting weaknesses.

Rewards for Defeating Homo Pento

With the strange human defeated, you’ll earn the usual rewards, such as experience, MAG, and money.

You might also get boss drops like Talismans to craft new Summons or even an Ascetic Crosier, a rare weapon for Summoners.

After defeating the boss, Eupha will initiate what can be considered her first heart-to-heart interaction. By the end of it, you’ll forge a new Bond, unlocking Eupha as a follower andofficially unlocking the Summoner Archetype.

The Trial of Malnova questwill be completed, rewarding you with four additional points in theWisdom Virtue.

Once you’re done exploring the Land of Ceremony, head back to the entrance and start honing your skills as a Devil Summoner in training.
