Unlocking this mode will require at least three separate runs and the ability to reach the Clock Tower, a late game biome. For roguelike newcomers, it’s not the most welcoming challenge. So fans will need to be dedicated and prepare for some tough battles ahead if they want to play as a true member of everyone’s favorite vampire-slaying family.
Get To Dracula’s Castle
The first step is to unlock the Castlevania DLC and reach Dracula’s Castle. If fans are playing from a fresh file, this will require at least two runs to unlock the Castlevania DLC. On taking their first steps onto the Castle Outskirts, the Prisoner will need to continue through the DLC until they face off against Death. Defeat Death, then complete that run, and start a new run.
Alucard will be waiting for the player at the Prisoner’s Quarters. On talking to him, he’ll state that he has an idea of how to get back to his world and stop Dracula at the same time. The key to his plans will be in the Clock Tower.
Getting To The Clock Tower
On starting a new run, fans should work their way through the biomes as normal, but must verify to reach the Clock Tower during this run.
Be aware that in this new run, players cannot go to the Castle Outskirts if they want to reach Dracula’s true castle and unlock Richter Mode. It’s only possible to enter the Castlevania DLC once per run.
If fans are having trouble getting past a locked door here, they should make sure to check the top of each tower thoroughly for the Clockmaker’s Key. That key will open the door that leads to the Clock Room and the Time Keeper herself. After the defeat of the Time Keeper (a formidable foe though not one of the toughest bosses in the genre),Alucard will be waiting next to the entrance to Dracula’s true castle.

Finding Richter
Once in this new version of Dracula’s Castle, players should scour the biome andlook for a lore room that has a golden door depicting two figures reaching out for one another. They just need to interact with that door, and they’ll be transported to an inverted version of that same room.
To the right will be Richter Belmont, trapped in a cage. Fans just need to release him, and he’ll thank them and go on his merry way.Now that he’s been released, whenever the Prisoner starts a new run and makes it back to this cage, they can enter Richter Mode.
What To Do In Richter Mode
In Richter Mode, players take control of Richter Belmont and play through a special version of Dracula’s Castle.Richter is armed with his family’s iconic whip, which plays similarly to the whip usually available to the Prisoner.
At the beginning of the level, Richter will only have the ability to jump and double-jump. However, players will be able to find upgrades hidden in the level to give Richter a dash and a higher jump.Unlike The Prisoner,Richter doesn’t have any cooldowns on his abilities.Instead, items require a heart to use, much like the classic Castlevania games. Destroying lamps and killing enemies can reward hearts, and Richter can hold up to 30 hearts at a time.
