Of course, there are some easy ones, likeChromatic Bruler, which you find early on and can defeat even while being underleveled. But if you want to fight someone strong, the Chromatic Portier is the one you should seek.

This enemy smashes its giant shield on the ground, which is strong enough to one-shot you if you aren’t decently leveled. But if you somehow do manage to survive, it will play dirty and inflict Blight on the party members so that you start losing HP and, eventually, the fight.
However, you need not worry; this guide has you covered with everything from its location to its weaknesses, so that you may beat the Chromatic Portier in no time.
Where To Find The Chromatic Portier?
you’re able to find the Chromatic Portier on a floating island by going southeast from The Meadows or Ancient Gestral City.This area won’t be accessible until you complete Act 2 and unlock Esquie’s fly ability.
But as soon as you are able to fly, the next steps are very easy. Justgo to the location shown on the map, and you can spot the Chromatic Portier standing menacingly alone on the empty island.

How To Prepare For The Chromatic Portier Fight
The Chromatic Portier is weak to Fire damage.So the best members for this fight are Maelle and Lune. However, you aren’t restricted to these two characters.
As long as the highest damage dealer in your party has skills that deal damage using your weapon’s element and a fire weapon, you should be fine.
The only other thing you should consider is whether your character can take hits. It is very easy to get one-shotted by Chromatic Portier’s attacks.
So, if you have glass cannon characters, consider leveling up a few levels and upgrading your attributes to have more Vitality and Defense. Alternatively, you could alsouse a recoat to respec your characters.
Best Party Members
For this fight,I used Lune, Verso, and Maelle at levels 81, 84, and 81, respectively. Both Lune and Maelle have plenty of strong Fire skills. As for Verso, he can make up for the lack of fire skills with a Fire weapon.
Starting withLune, I used a level 32Angerim. You could also go with aBraselimorChoraliminstead. For her skills, Wildfire, Mayhem, and Hell are good and deal medium, high, and very high damage, respectively.
As this boss inflicts Blight, it is highly recommended you also equip Healing Light so that she can heal the party and also remove Blight. Rebirth is another skill that you can equip, but try not to let your characters die; instead, heal them as soon as they are low.
Reviving characters lets Chromatic Portier restore a huge chunk of its health. This can affect your progress as you will have to redo that amount of damage all over again.
ForMaelle, I used a level 32Brulerum, but you could also use aSeashellumorStalum. Her best skills for this fight are Degagement, Rain of Fire, Pyrolyse, and Revenge.

Maelle is one of the strongest characters in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, so grabbing all her weapons is highly recommended.
Finally, forVerso, I equipped Assault Zero, From Fire, and Strike Storm for his offensive moves. Perfect Recovery is good to have when you are low on health. As for his weapon, I used a level 32Corpeso, but aDansesowill also work fine.

This skill consumes all Stains to deal high elemental damage to a single target. Can Break if 4 Stains are used.
It deals medium Fire damage to all enemies in 1 hit and applies 3 Burns. It consumes 2 Ice Stains to do increased damage. This skill generates 1 Fire and 1 Light Stain.
Healing Light
Use this skill to heal Lune or an ally by 30-50% health and dispel any status effects. When you have 2 Earth Stains, it costs 0 AP to use this skill. It generates 1 Light Stain.
Use this skill to revive an ally with 30-70% of their HP and +2 extra AP. When you have 3 Earth Stains, it costs 0 AP to use this skill. It generates 1 Light Stain.
Strike Storm (Verso)
It deals very high damage to a single target using the weapon’s element in 5 hits. Critical hits generate 2 more Perfection. Perfection Rank C increases damage.
From Fire (Verso)
It deals medium damage to a single target while using the weapon’s element in 3 hits. If the target is burning, this skill restores self-HP by 20%. Perfection Rank B increases damage.
Assault Zero
It deals low damage to a single target while using the weapon’s element in 5 hits. Critical hits generate additional Perfection. Perfection Rank B increases damage.
Perfect Recovery
Use this skill to recover 50% HP and dispel all status effects. It gives you 0-2 Perfection. Perfection Rank C restores 100% HP.
It deals extreme Fire damage to a single target in 3 hits and applies 3 Burns per hit. If used while in Offensive stance, it applies 2 more Burns per hit. Using this skill puts Maelle in Defensive stance.
It deals high Fire damage to a single target in 1 hit. The more hits you took in the previous turn, the more damage it does. Can Break. Using this skill puts Maelle in Defensive stance.
Rain of Fire
It deals medium Fire damage to a single target in 2 hits and applies 3 Burns per hit. If used while in Defensive stance, it applies 2 more Burns per hit. Using this skill puts Maelle in Offensive stance.
Degagement
It deals low Fire damage to a single target in 1 hit. The target also becomes weak to fire for the next 2 turns. Using this skill puts Maelle in Offensive stance.
Swift Stride
It deals low Physical damage to a single target in 1 hit. If a target is burning when this skill is used, it regains 0-2 AP. Using this skill puts Maelle in Virtuose stance.
Chromatic Portier Attack Breakdown
The Chromatic Portier has three moves, andany time any of its attacks connect, it will apply Blight on the party member that is hit.
Ground Slam and Jump Attack
Chromatic Portier raises its shield-arms and slams it on the ground. You can jump and counterattack it. Next, it jumps and slams its shields on the entire party.

5-Hit Ground Shake Attack
Chromatic Portier raises its shield and slams it on the ground five times. Each attack can target a different party member.

Chromatic Portier walks up to a party member and slams their shield on them four times. Finally, for the fifth attack, it does a Gradient shield slam.

How To Beat Chromatic Portier In Clair Obscur Expedition 33
To defeat the Chromatic Portier, you should hit it with Fire attacks and stack up Burns. The fight starts with Chromatic Portier having four shields.
The boss always opens with the ground slam and jump attack. The ground slam is easy to jump and counterattack, and this will take away its 3 shields. Next, if you can parry the jump attack, it should take care of the last shield.
Else, when you get your turn, free aim anywhere on the boss to take away its remaining shield.Once all shields are down, free-aim and shoot the glowing orb at its center.
Since at the start of the fight you have less AP, you should use moves like Assault Zero, Wildfire, or Degagement. Next, dodge the first few attacks to learn the Chromatic Portier’s attack timings. In case you get hit, you can use Lune’s Healing Light to remove Blight.
Healing Tint Sharddoesn’t cure status effects on its own, but you can equipCleansing TintPictos or Luminas for it.
After you have more AP from the parries,use stronger skills like Strike Storm, Hell, and Pyrolyse to deal lots of Fire damage while also stacking burns. Heal yourself if you get low to avoid dying, so that you don’t accidentally end up healing the boss with a revive.
Continue spamming your attacks on the boss until it is defeated.
Chromatic Portier Rewards

Anti-Blight, as the name suggests, is a Picto that makes you immune to Blight.
