The actress and singer reportedly had an altercation with a background dancer during the Jonas Brothers’ Tour, that resulted in her punching the dancer.
Lovato opened up about the incident in a documentary on her life namedSimply Complicated.The documentary reportedly chronicled her life as a child star and the various issues she had to go through while dealing with early stardom, including her substance abuse issues and eating disorders.

According to Lovato, she had invited her band to dinner during the Columbian leg of the tour and someone had brought drgs to the party, which they later discarded at the hotel. The actress was reportedly on Adderal at the time and one of the dancers reportedly ‘told on her’ after the hotel found out about the other drgs. Lovato said,
The next day, I was in a lot of trouble…I remember going to Kevin Sr. and saying ‘Listen, I want to thank whoever told on me, because I know they were just worried about me. I just really want to know who told you.’ I manipulated him into telling me who it was. And he said it was Shorty. [When Kevin Sr.] said Shorty, I remember thinking, ‘I’m about to beat this b*tch up.’…I just remember going and sitting down, texting my mom ‘I’m sorry.’ And I slept the whole day…I just came to a breaking point.
Lovato reportedly punched Shorty a.k.a Alex Welch in the face after confronting her on the plane. The ramifications of the incident reportedly included her taking a break from work and checking into a rehabilitation center for treatment. According toJ-4, Alex Welch is still a dancer. Nick Jonas was also reportedly on the plane when it happened.
