It has been nearly a week since Sony unveiled some of the first games that are planned to release on PS5 in the future, with Guerrilla Games’Horizon Forbidden Westbeing one of the standout titles of the presentation. Now, more information on this highly-anticipated sequel has come to light, as has a potential release window.
In a new video shared by PlayStation today,Horizon Forbidden Westreceived some new details directly from Guerrilla Games director Mathijs de Jonge. This video explained many new aspects of the game, such as its location, which will stretch all the way from the state of Utah to the shores of the Pacific Ocean. de Jonge also went on to explain that the expanse of this game world is much more detailed compared to what was seen inZero Dawnand will also require nearly no loading screens whatsoever.
Much like the previous installment,Horizon Forbidden Westwill also feature many dangeous enemy types that Aloy will come across. While we saw some of these new foes in the original reveal trailer for the game, Guerrilla goes over them in greater detail in this new video that was released this afternoon. In total, there are said to be “dozens of new machines” that Aloy will see throughout the experience.
Far and away the biggest detail given in the video though likely came about at its conclusion. de Jonge, while not committing fully, said that right now Guerrilla is planning to releaseHorizon Forbidden Westnext year in 2021. Given that this will have been four years since the original game launched, this seems to be an expected release window forForbidden West. We’ll just have to cross our fingers and hope that things don’t shift around between now and next year.
If you want to watch the full video in question, you can find it attached above. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we hear (and see) more ofHorizon Forbidden Westas we continue to near the launch of the PS5 later this year.
