However, another fanbase sat in silence as they watched their favorite game thrive in silence. There wasn’t anything particularly wrong with this game, except for the time when it was released.
Right around the timeElden Ringarrived,Horizon Forbidden Westwas released. Another massive open-world game that takes players on a journey across multiple ecosystems and has a detailed narrative. The only problem was that almost no one had the time or money to enjoy both games at the same time.
History Might Just Repeat Itself Again
No, there’s not another game by FromSoftware that seems to be disrupting the release of a DLC forHorizon Forbidden West. However, the PC version of the game is coming soon, and it might just arrive when three major titles go live:Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree,Dragon’s Dogma 2, andRise of the Ronin. While there’s no official announcement date forElden Ring’sDLC, it might just show up in March, like the other two games.
The problem arises when PC players eagerly wait forHorizon Forbidden Westto arrive on PC. This will include bonus content and DLC, but, as history has shown us, this may be a bad time for the publishers to bring the game out. People might just take a larger interest in the other three titles and invest over there.

Internet users are clearly having fun with this. At the same time, they also feel terrible about the possible curse that has hooked on the game’s devs. It feels like every time something big happens for the franchise, the player base just can’t catch a break and pay the game the attention it deserves.
What Elden Ring’s DLC Can Mean for Horizon Forbidden West’s PC release
By itself,Elden Ringis a massive game that comprises multiple endings, characters, bosses, items, and a huge world to explore. Adding to that,Shadow of the Erdtreewill likely expand the world into different points of lore and exploration, which will add 20 (or more) hours to the game’s playtime. That’s enough to keep anyone busy.
That’s where the issue lies. Once players invest their time in the game, it’s tough to take a breath of fresh air and throw themselvesintoanother world. Horizon Forbidden Westis a massive upgrade from the last game, expanding on the detailed world and giving players even more freedom with how they choose to explore the game. There are gigantic areas to explore, machines to conquer, and stories to dive in.
Given the tight timeline,Dragon’s Dogma 2andRise of the Roninare both massive games themselves, which putsHorizon Forbidden Westin a tough spot. Objectively speaking, it seems like all four games are trying to compete against one another, butElden Ring’smassive fanbase might take the crown on this one. We’ll have to see how things unfold.
