In Honkai Star Rail, every character has a Path that they follow which dictates what position they will take in the team. In this guide, we will go over every Path, so you’re able to utilize them successfully in your teams.

What Are Paths?

If you are really familiar with Genshin Impact, you’ll know that every character had a role that they filled in their team, includingMain DPS, Sub-DPS, and Support. Each character wasn’t specifically given this title, however; it wasbased solely on their abilities and statsthat determined what role they would fit best.

In Honkai Star Trail, however, there are more concrete roles that each character will play, called Paths. This essentially will give a summary of the attacks and abilities that the character utilizes, as well as the stats that their abilities are built on.Here is a description of every path in the game:

You can essentially apply the Main DPS, Sub-DPS, and Support label to each of these separately to know what their main focus will be in battle. For example, members of The Hunt are almost always Main DPS, while Abundance will always be Support healers.Just like in Genshin, you will want to haveat least one Main DPS, and then a mixture of Sub-DPS and Supportto provide additional damage and buffs to stats.

How To Use Paths

Paths are certainly not something to be ignored in Honkai Star Rail — they are just as important asthe elements each character holds. Paths are what will mostlydetermine how you build your team,so you are getting the most out of each character’s abilities and talents.

When building your team, you should chooseone Main DPS, at least 2 Support, and one Sub-DPS (or an additional Support). We will break down each Path and place them into one of the three roles to better help you situate your team. Keep in mind thatsome of these Paths can technically fit into two different categories, mostly depending on each character’s individual abilities.

Harmony, Nihility, Preservation, Abundance

If you are able to create multiple teams, it’s best to haveone team that is focused on defeating multiple targets, while the other can take on Elite Enemies and Formidable Foes.Specifically, usingThe Hunt on single-target powerful enemies is the way to go.you may then give themthree additional Support unitsto buff their attacks even more and take down the enemy in front of you. As long as you ensure to include the right Paths into your team, you’ll be good to go.
