Spiders are one of the main recurring enemies inHogwarts Legacy, which comes in many different forms. After defeating the Absconder, there is another spider problem for the protagonist to handle. This time, spiders have completely infested and taken over a settlement, and you’ll be fighting your way through the horde to clear the town and their nest.

This quest becomes available after the Absconder quest and takes place in the settlement where you initially took that quest. This quest is also finished with a large boss spider after clearing the nest of all the eggs to prevent a further infestation of the town.
Beginning The Tangled Web Quest
This quest becomes availableafter you have completed the Absconder Encounterquest and fought the Acromantula for the second time. After defeating that boss and completing the quest, head to Hogsmeade and into the Three Broomsticks to find Crispin Dunne by the fire. He will inform you that theentire settlement of Aranshire has been infested by spidersand requests the protagonist to go and clear out the infestation and check on his friend Mary, who was living in the town. After accepting this quest, the settlement of Aranshire will now be completely covered in spiders and their webs. You canuse the Floo Powder fast-travel straight into the town, with the spiders beginning to spawn quickly after the player.

Clearing Out The Infestation
After arriving at the settlement,many spiders will spawn in the town’s centerthat will need to be killed. After clearing out the spiders, enter Mary’s house and find her webbed and cocooned. You’ll also find a note next to her body that states she isbreeding spiders in her basementto sell their venom. Leave the house and head to the back to head down into the basement.
Inside the basement, you’ll see that it opens up into a much larger-than-expected cave system. The player will be tasked withdestroying 12 egg clusters to clear out the cave. As you find them, destroy theegg clusters witharea-of-effect fire spellsto also kill the hatchlingswithin to save you the hassle of dealing with them later. In the first large central room will be a few egg clusters and many spiders to kill. After clearing out the main cave, you’ll need to go downboth the right and the left side tunnelsto find the remainder of the eggs. Both sides of the cave will have clusters of eggs guarded by more spiders, and after clearing out all 12 clusters,head back to the central room.
In the central room, the once boarded-up path will be busted open by a much larger mini-boss spider, with, of course, smaller ones spawning to fight alongside it. After defeating these new enemies,head down the newly opened path to find a large caveand this quest’sfinal boss, the Insatiable Spider. Despite this Spider’s size, itcan move quickly and can be a surprisingly tricky fight.
After defeating this final boss, head back to Crispin in the Three Broomsticks to tell him the infestation is clear and Mary’s fate. You caneither tell him the truth or lie to himto give him a false sense of peace. Despite a different response from Crispin, there isno lasting impact based on what you decideto tell him.
