The last few years have been tough for the DC brand, whether it be underwhelming standalone releases or the departure of some fan favorites in the wake of the new regime. But there is hope at the end of the tunnel, as fans rejoiced at the first teaser for James Gunn’sSuperman, which is finally taking the character back to its roots.

However, David Corenswet wasn’t the lone highlight of the teaser, as several characters, including Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois, were heavily teased. While Henry Cavill has yet to express his viewpoint on this new iteration, Amy Adams seems to be holding no grudges against the retelling.
Amy Adams joins the hypetrain for Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois
Even though the Snyderverse was mostly embedded with issues, one thing that the DCEU mostly got right was the casting, andAmy Adams‘ Lois Lane did go hand in hand with Cavill’s Clark Kent.

Although she was one of the many faces who was shown the boot to make room for a fresh universe, theNightbitchstar isn’t shying away from dishing out advice forRachel Brosnahan, adding (viaVariety),“I’m really looking forward to it.”
I love her. She’s gonna be great. Hopefully the role will be infused with her sensibility and her natural humor and strength and wit. I’m really looking forward to it. I really like her.

In contrast to Adams, Cavill on the flip side hasn’t bothered sharing his stance on the newSuperman, which isn’t surprising given how he was handled during the DCEU’s decade-long run.
Henry Cavill’s silence onSupermanis pretty understandable
Most of us can wholeheartedly agree thatHenry Cavillwas a great pick to bring Superman to the screen, but unfortunately, his full potential was never realized, and we’ve WB and the writing department to blame for it. As for his silence on the new iteration, it’s completely understandable. Considering how his Superman was brought back for a brief cameo before the reboot, the eventual recasting served as an insult to injury to both fans and Cavill.

However, it’s important to note that Cavill was never hired in the first place, and his return could be boiled down to Dwayne Johnson’sobsessionto star against Superman. But with fans finally set to witness Superman in his true spirit, it might be time for Cavill to come forward and acknowledge Corenswet’s version in order to shed light on what Superman truly stands for.
Supermanwill hit theatres on 13 July 2025.
