The Flashwas one of the biggest disappointments to come out of the DCEU, given that it came at a time when the fandom had largely decided not to care about the superhero universe since James Gunn was cooking the reboot for the franchise. There were rumors that the film would set up the reboot that James Gunn would facilitate and go ahead with, and the final scene of the film, instead of having Geroge Clooney’s Batman, would have had a completely different scene, which would have set up this future.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the scene was on the court’s steps, when Barry makes his father’s court date, and is found innocent. When Barry gives a statement about the case, instead of Bruce, a different set of characters would have met Barry, signifying how Barry had changed the multiverse, and set up Henry Cavill’sMan of Steel 2.

The original scene, according toThe Hollywood Reporter, would have focused on multiple heroes from both of Barry’s pasts coming to him after he exited the court. This would include Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Michael Keaton’s Batman, along withSasha Calleand Henry Cavill being Supergirl and Superman respectively.

This could have set the DCEU a little straight, potentially introducing successors to Batman (maybe Terry McGinnis) and also setting upMan of Steel 2.
Henry Cavillhad just returned forBlack Adamfor a brief cameo before it was revealed that DC would no longer be going ahead with his version of the character. Had the DCEU been allowed to stay on, fans would have seen Superman and Supergirl share the screen inMan of Steel 2, which would have been quite the treat.

It would have been interesting to explore the new timeline that the DCEU would have existed in postThe Flash, as Supergirl’s existence would have made all the difference in stories likeMan of Steel,Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, andJustice League. Perhaps Steppenwolf would have been a lot easier to defeat, or Darkseid could have taken a personal interest in the existence of two Kryptonians on Earth. This could have prompted the comic tyrant to send out Brainiac to Earth to deal with the Kryptonians ahead of his invasion.
