Scout Striders are an Automaton Faction unitfound in bot missions of at leastmedium difficulty.These walking AT-ST-like turrets are very likely to show up when you call for extraction, but you can also find them infactoriesandpatrolsduring missions.
They are recognizable by their long, lanky legs and their box-shaped bodies. They sport a machine gun in the front, operated by what is otherwise a standard trooper pilot.

Because Scout Striders have a solid metal front and a stationary gun, your position matters big-time. Both the strategies to survive their onslaught and take them out arereliant on positioning.
Surviving A Scout Strider
When fighting a Scout Strider, it is easy to get mowed down by their gunfire. This is because they are tall enough to negate much of the cover available, and have a high rate of fire.Prioritize strafing and tall cover to avoid damage, as these enemies cannot turn quickly and only shoot forward.
Best Way To Kill A Scout Strider
Thefront of this enemy is impenetrably armored, so directing fire here is pointless. However, theback of the Strider is wide open, and the pilot is vulnerable from this angle.
To quickly take out the Scout Strider, you can either engage in teamplay or use superior positioning. In a team,one player can distract the Scout Strider while the other lines up a headshot on the pilot from behind. If you don’t have the coordination for that strategy,try getting onto high ground and shooting the pilot from the top— his head is just barely visible if you get high enough.
With a heavier weapon, like the Autocannon orRailgun, you can also target their legs, as they’re weaker than their armored cockpit. One well-placed shot on a leg can bring them down.

Best Stratagems Against Scout Striders
Alternatively, you canuse Stratagemsto take out a Scout Strider. This is the best course of action if things are too chaotic to line up a headshot, or you are on the verge of being overwhelmed. In this case,most Orbital Strikes are sufficient to take out a Scout Strider.
You can also use Minefields, although it is important not to blow yourself up when baiting the Scout Strider into it.
