One of the most popular video games in the world right now,Helldivers 2, will soon get a feature that players have been constantly requesting from Arrowhead Game Studios: Cross-progression.Helldivers 2is currently available on two platforms, PlayStation 5 and Windows, and Arrowhead boss, Johan Pilestedt, has confirmed that they are currently discussing this idea so fans will potentially be able to play the game on one platform and the progress will be saved for both the platforms.

Recently, Arrowhead Game Studios was scrutinized by PC players after they discovered that an active PSN account is mandatory to play the game. As a result, the game was bombarded with negative reviews on Steam. This feature was initially optional when the game was released because of “technical issues” but now players need to do this to play the game further. Judging by Pilestedt’s statement, it seems like there are a lot of discussions taking place within Arrowhead on this topic, so, hopefully in the future, the studios will find a solution.

Many players believe that Sony is now making it mandatory as they have gathered enough fanbase on the PC, however, this feature was supposed to be in the game since the very beginning but it wasn’t rolled out because of “technical issues.”
It’s not likeHelldivers 2is the only game that is now forcing players to link their accounts with a different account, many games on Steam require players to link their accounts with an Xbox account. Hopefully, in the future, players will be satisfied after Arrowhead allows cross-progression.
