Helldivers 2is full of chaos and difficult enemies. Engaging with the wrong tactics can quickly turn your mission into a loss. This is especially true athigher difficulties, where harder enemy types are more plentiful. But which enemies are the hardest? What should you do against them?
DualShockers Definitives: 10 Best PS5 Multiplayer Games
From Diablo 4 to Fall Guys, the PS5 has some of the best multiplayer titles around. Let’s look at what made our top 10 of all time.
Many players are wondering these exact questions, and the community has been abuzz with opinions andtips for new players. Here is a comprehensive list of Helldivers 2’s hardest enemies, ranked based on how difficult they are to kill, and how likely they are to wipe a squad.

Helldivers 2
10Brood Commander (Terminid)
A Bloodthirsty, Overgrown Warrior
The Brood Commander isthe armored, reddish-brown leaderof the Terminid Faction, who uses its pheromones to direct other Terminids on the field. Typically, these enemies spawn in Outposts or Nests. While the Brood Commander doesn’t have any specific weak spots, players have found that headshots take it out more quickly. However,it can remain dangerous after losing its head, as it continues to move and attack for several seconds. The false sense of security that you’ve blown its head off has led to the death of many brave Helldivers.
It is not uncommon for this overgrown bug to take out a player, but Brood Commanders rarely result in a squad wipe. It presents its head as an easy target when approaching you, so emptying a full clip while walking backward is usually enough to kill it. This relative ease compared to other enemies on this list is why many early missions in the game revolve around hunting down Brood Commanders.

9Dropship (Automaton)
Not Only Armored - It Also Brings Friends
Dropships are currently the only aerial enemyin the game and can be hard to spot due to their unique movement patterns. However, a helpful message appears on the player’s screen when one spawns, because these enemies bring Automaton friends, similar to the Terminids' Bug Breach mechanic. While they won’t directly be responsible for your squad wipes, Dropships have a habit of chaining together when you aren’t careful. This can quickly lead to anoverwhelming number of enemiesand death by attrition.
Helldivers 2: Complete Enemy List
Helldivers 2 delivers blood-pumping action as you face off against two vicious factions: the bug-like Terminids and the Automaton Collective.
Each time a scout in a group of Automatons sees a Helldiver, they will launch a flare. This calls a Dropship. The Dropship brings a group that has a scout, which then also launches a flare. Repeat ad nauseam. To stop this cycle, you cantake out the ship before it spawns the next group(we suggest aRecoilless Rifleto the engine)or headshot enemies on the ground before they can launch a flare.

8Stalker (Terminid)
A (Sort Of) Invisible Assassin
Stalkers are one of the first enemies the average player will encounter that has a special ability. This Terminid is capable of becoming invisiblefor short periods and can move quite fast. Recognizable by their white and black striped body, Stalkers will try to jump the player for a quick kill and can spawn anywhere, so it’s key to keep your eyes peeled.
Taking them out once they are seen is child’s play, as their health is about the same as a standard Scavenger. However, the game likes to spawn them in groups. It is not unusual to face five to ten Stalkers at a time in the higher difficulties. This is when they can easily wipe your squad. Common advice suggests being spread out and using grenades to deal with them.

7Devastator (Automaton)
Has The Right Weapon For The Job
Devastators are one of the more versatile members of the Automaton faction because they arewell-armored, can deal ranged damage, and have several variants. These variants each have a different weapon mounted on their arms, which might include a Rocket Launcher or a Flamethrower.
Players encountering a Devastator have to adjust on the fly to whichever weapon the bot spawned with while aiming for aDevastator’s only real weakness — the bright red circle on their chest. To do the most damage, point a fire-based weapon here and let loose, although well-placed explosives will do the job nearly as well.

6Berserker (Automaton)
A Wildly Swinging Chainsaw Deathball
Berserkers are a deadly melee fighter from the Automaton faction, most recognizable for their Chainsaw arms. Their general battle plan is to chase down a player and go to town, but they aren’t the most agile creatures. Instead, they rely on high armor and have few weak points. This armor, along with their high damage, is what makes ignoring their approach dangerous.
If allowed to enter melee range, a Devastator can, well, devastateyour team. Instead, use explosive and armor-piercing weaponry to take them out at a distance. If you are a good enough shot, you’re able to shoot off their arms to reduce their damage output, but it’s often better to take them out altogether.
5Bile Titan (Terminid)
The Largest Bug You’ve Ever Seen
Whileall the Terminid Faction’s unitsare giants by bug standards, the Bile Titan takes it to a new level. This massive enemy is skyscraper-sizedand best left to experienced Helldivers. That being said, it is by no means the most difficult Terminid Enemy in the game. Despite its armor and ranged attacks, its massive size makes it hard to miss.
This means that you’ll likely see the Bile Titan from a distance and be able topepper it with bullets easily from range. In addition, its size makes it the easiest enemy to kill with a Hellpod— and very easy to hit with an Orbital Strike.
4Bile Spewer (Terminid)
Acid Is Everywhere & Everything Hurts
These monsters are the first enemy on the list that most players struggle with, even after they know the strategies. Why? Because it is too tanky to take it out before it spits at you, and that acid is no joke.Getting hit by a Bile Spewer slows you down and deals almost enough damage to kill yououtright. The result? Some Scavengers are quite likely to close in on you and finish the job.
Helldivers 2: Best Graphics Settings For Visuals & Performance
If you are experiencing lag or crashing in Helldivers II, then this article can help you ensure your graphics settings aren’t to blame.
The only real way to play against a Bile Spewer is todive behind the cover when the spit animation begins. Once it has thrown acid, there appears to be a short cooldown that you’re able to use toshoot it in the head or call down an orbital strike. You should expect to have to dodge multiple rounds of acid unless you call down your strongest firepower — these guys have ridiculous armor and health.
3Hulk (Automaton)
There Is No Such Thing As Overkill
Have you ever looked at a Scout Strider and thought, “I wish that walking turret was also heavily armored.” If you have, your prayers have been answered, you lunatic. Hulks are one of the most heavily armored Automaton units, which is saying something considering how many enemies in that faction have armor. The pilot of this mech is fully encased in solid metal, with only a pinpoint laser sight to see. That, combined with its deadly weapons, means that many missions have been wiped out by Hulks.
Luckily,it’s not very accurate at long range, and it’s fairly slow, so you can often get some space and then turn around tothrow a Stratagemon it.A powerful Orbital Strike is usually the best course of action, although Hulks have a disturbing ability to survive Stratagems that most other enemies wouldn’t. Just to be safe, we suggest aMini-Nuke.
2Tank (Automaton)
An Unstoppable Force Of Treason
Tanks are currently the toughest enemy to kill in the game, aside from Chargers.Their armor is extensive, and the anti-vehicle weapons players have access to may be a bit undertuned in comparison. The only saving grace is thatthey don’t have any way to quickly close distances, so you can often jump from cover to cover and kite them.
Annihilator Tanks, a variant found in the highest difficulties of the game, feature even more armor. In addition, they lack the weakspot on the back of their turret. The only way to deal with these enemies is several charged Railgun shots, or a 500 lb. bomb.
This leads to the popular strategy for dealing with these terrors — teamwork. Standard Tanks have a weak point on the backside of the gun, where a well-placed Heavy Weaponry shot can decimate them. While you won’t normally see this location during head-to-head combat, one player can distract the Tank while another gets an angle on the weakspot.
1Charger (Terminid)
This Nightmare Is Back From The Original Helldivers
The Charger is an infamous enemy from the original Helldivers game, who continues to haunt the nightmares of longtime fans. The tactics used by the Chargers have largely remained the same, but that is because they were already terrifyingly effective. Chargers havealmost the heaviest armoring in the game, while also dealing high damageandbeing fast. In short? They have it all.
To successfully survive a Charger attack, you’ll need toJump Pack over the Charger or dive out of the way. Even a glancing blow means instant death. In between charges, you’ll have toblast off its armor and hit the exposed fleshto try and take it out. This takes perfect team play and skill, so most teams won’t make it out without a casualty or two.
The leg is the easiest to remove the armor from, with a single Railgun shot.
