During the recent PC Gaming Show event,Team 17and Cover 6 Studios released a new trailer forHell Let Looseto excite fans for the upcoming Devotion to Duty update, but the result was a huge disappointment for both fans and the developers.
Packed with eerie technical issues, hilarious animations, and strange camera angles, the new trailer from Hell Let Loose was all but a shameful performance that tuned down the expectations for the future of the game rather than hyping up the fans for what’s coming.

Following the trailer’s poor quality, Cover 6 Studios released an officialstatementtoday to apologize to fans for the glitchy trailer. “We’re sorry, everyone,” reads the statement. “What we’d hoped would be an exciting and immersive trailer for our next update - Devotion to Duty - has unfortunately fallen short of expectations. We understand that you were eagerly awaiting the trailer, and we deeply apologize for the disappointment, frustration, and sense of let-down felt among the community.”
For a long time, Hell Let Loose has been one of the highly-praised war simulation FPS titles in the market, but since the acquisition of the IP by Team 17, the game doesn’t seem to be making any move to exciting fans for its future.
Since 2022, Team 17 has announced two development studios, Expression Games and Cover 6 Studios, as co-developers of Hell Let Loose, resulting in the arrival of a brand-new roadmap for the game with meaty content, but the actual results have been far beneath the community’s expectations so far.
Although the new development teams introduced a new faction to the game with Update 14 along with a number of other fixes, the new content update added so many bugs and technical issues that overshadowed the positive additions. After the release of Update 14, the developers reacted to the technical issues by promising that a major bugfix on June 22 will remove most of the current issues, which was a part of today’s statement as well.
“Hell Let Loose has always aimed to provide an authentic and immersive experience, and the latest updates haven’t reflected this as well as they should have,” the statement reads. “We hear and value your feedback and are dedicated to actioning it across future updates.”
It’s yet to be seen how things will change for Hell Let Loose in the future, but the game’s recent reviews on Steam have been quite negative, with most of the fans finding Team 17 guilty of the new direction that doesn’t resonate with what Black Matter originally created.
